Good luck to him - Sporting barely have enough money for Silva and his replacement Bas Dost is on fire while he is the dampest of squibs. Either way I hope that we are able to get rid and he isn't another Benalouane considering his contract is until 2021.
All these possible ins and outs ... i bet nothing happens at all except maybe some more loans out We aren't really that big on January spending, probably a good thing though as theres usually a mid-season markup.
Sky sports what teams need Leicester section by Rob Dorsett. How uninformed is he? Saying Silva signed late last Jan and couldn’t play until the summer which is a basic error but makes it look like he’s only been given half a season. Then highlighting left back as one of the two areas we need. With Chilwell and Fuchs (for now) LB is hardly an area we need this Jan. Striker, the right type of CM and a more accomplished winger are far more of a priority
He does state that the LB is more of an option, we know Fuchs is out of here in the summer, so hes not wrong. If Man City do come in for Chilwell, then we will need 2 in the summer. For me, we need a striker to replace Okazaki and push Vardy.
Fenabache want Soyuncu on loan - we have rejected the approach out of hand. Newcastle have been linked with Simpson and Silva - incidentally Benitez is now favourite to be our manager next season. Even though it has been reported earlier this month that Wolves have all but signed 24yo Japanese winger Shoya Nakajima, apparently they haven't even bidded for him and we are linked with him again. We are also linked with Mohamed Elneny from Arsenal again.
Wouldnt want Rafa tbh. He is a much much better version of Puel I would go after Eddie Howe personally. Surely he has taken Bournemouth as far as he can
Your reaction is one that I have heard a lot - he is a good manager but is not for us. Makes it more likely he will join us as Rafa has a habit of joining clubs whose fans don't want him there... Howe has equal odds with Sean Dyche who was really close to joining us before we got Raneiri https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/leicester/next-permanent-manager As you don't like Puel then I'm sure that Allerdyce, Coleman and LVG being on that list is filling you with dread - and considering how Ireland played under O'Niell, him as well.
Good news - could well be promoted to back up left back next year if Fuchs leaves. Always looked solid
Yh it seems that way. Just seems strange he is 23. Not old but thats quite old for someone he hasnt really played much at a decent level (Championship or Prem) and we see him as back up to someone younger who has played much more Personally I would look at bringing someone in Fuchs is moving to america to be with his family so its not an if. He is deffo leaving
Puel has confirmed that barring no injuries we wont be recalling Filip Benkovic Would make zero sense to recall him with Morgan, Maguire, Evans and Soyuncu all playing well this season. Defensivley we have been quite good this season, just missing a spark going forward
Hard to say Club are in talks with Morgan over a new deal Evans is a proven player and hasnt signed for us to sit on the bench. And he looked better and better as the season as gone Maguire is our best defender and offers more to us then the others Soyuncu is a big money signing and looks decent but needs time to settle and learn I think next season we could see Benkovic replace Soyuncu and Soyuncu go out on loan. Possibly to Celtic
Can also see Man Utd breaking the bank to take Maguire - if the offer is stupid enough, he will leave.
Cant see us selling him. He has since signed a long term contract. He said in the summer he owed it to the club for the faith they shown in him. I cant see him kicking up a fuss now Plus now the world cup hype has gone Man U will probably look elsewhere
Doubt Benkovic will be recalled unless the club feel that we need to deal with his hamstring injury rather than Celtic. Pulled up in the first half against Rangers and was subbed straight away.
Man Utd are targeting Koulibaly who Napoli want around £100m for. Rumours are that they might go for Maguire as he is the cheaper target at "only" around £80m plus it's homegrown.
Its quite common for loan players to return to their parent club for treatment while injured. I would imagine Celtic have a decent medical department so Benkovic would probably stay A few years ago when Waghorn was on loan at Hull and had a persistent hamstring problem. Hull couldnt work out what was wrong. When he returned we worked out he need surgery straight away
Iborra could be a Villareal player before the Newport game and Sporting along with others have made enquiries over Adrien Silva. Puel also still wants to sell Andy King Ndidi, Mendy, Choudhury and Sick note **** sake thats a boring midfield. All good players but none have a creative spark
