Call me a synic .. but dont most clubs come out with the statement 'he's not for sale' in an effort to pump up the price to an offer they can't refuse. Sure some examples mean it .. like Leicester and Maguire .. but if Man Utd would have gone in with another offer you'd bet they would have considered it. No doubt twt and i hope there is a buyer waiting in the wings who has told them not to sell ... alas we have seen the phantom story of prospective buyers before .. usually before transfer windows .. hence why the suspicion
We all no what Ehab means when he says not for sale. For the right price he will be sold, Maybe near the end so we can't buy anyone. We could end up with Kane and Keane on the wings by Feb!
We know Duffen's lot did DD and were working through a deal. Have we been told categorically that the deal isn't going to happen? No. We know that an unknown American consortium were also working on a deal, or at least interested. Have we been told that they are no longer interested? No. We know that a bid headed up by Sportyco were interested. Has that fallen through? Possibly, I think I heard somewhere they'd sacked it off (happy to be proven wrong).
Whoa...back up a bit and stop biting I simply asked who has said there was a deal going through. You said that someone, not Ehab, has said it was going through. I can’t recall who said that, hence me asking
The Americans aren’t interested unless the price falls significantly and the Sportyco bid has indeed been sacked off.
I haven’t bothered reading this thread since the last time I came on it to post “I told you so” I haven’t read it today either but, I told you so.
The problem was price as it always is. You cant put a price of 40 million on the pretence of potential future premiership when you dont own anything. The good form and performance if certain players may help but its just not realistic when you dont own your own stadium.
It should be short and snappy, something that sticks in the mind. Everyone would remember the Allamo.
The price was reported to be £65m in the PL, but even that came from somebody on here, I've never heard the Allams quote a price. I don't know where this figure of £40m has come from, unless it's somebody 'ITK'. It could be half that, or double that, for all we know.
