That’s a subjective view, they could still perceive some fans as fickle and adding to the risk of buying. It’s not just about the Allams. Though concessions or lack of is not doing a great deal for our future fan base
Not mates, just excuses i here and or used by People. Some from people on here and others from people you meet out and about etc
celtic's jimmy johnstone was 5'4". he was a cracking player, in 2002 voted their best ever, which is some tribute, and there's a statue of him at celtic park. later spent a couple of seasons at sheff utd. only played 11 games for them, but he could have played against us. every time (4 times) he scored for scotland, they lost. died at 61 with motor neurone disease, the same as took don revie.
Sheffield weds sold out 2,800 tickets, they’ll out sing us, it’ll be like Wembley all over again thanks to our stay away fans
I remember Jimmy Johnstone taking Leeds apart in the European Cup. Up there with the best players Britain has produced, And a character to boot
I don’t go because the Allams are a pair of ****s who are robbing our club of our future supporters. They have morally repugnant principles & values along with a general attitude that I find reprehensible. I’m doing what is morally right for me. Does it affect them in any way? Not at all. Would handing over money to them to attend matches affect me? Absolutely, When I look in the mirror every morning. I prefer to see my values & principles intact. I only go to pay on the gate away games, when I can. I’ve attended one home game since the last promotion season. I had my reasons for doing so. It must be great on your ivory tower looking down on others.
Erm... Your over reacting just a little bit there. If your not going because of the Allams as other are on here then that is your chocie and I respect that wholeheartedly. But your just being daft if you think every single one of the "fans" we have lost from the gates this season is due to that fact and that fact alone! And your also a little blind if you can't and won't admit that some people will just find excuses not to go. Im not sitting in any tower looking down on anyone at all. I just don't ignore the obvious and not comment on it just because some people dont want to hear it. I seem to have touched a nerve with you for some reason and you've taken it personally when it wasnt aimed at anyone specific.
Often shaken my head at the lack of initiative at the club It may be that the staff i.e. marketing and sales people have good ideas but they are being blocked or ignored? They need to be flexible, creative and responsive with ticket sales and clearly that isn't the case Here in Lyon, the local club is always coming up with various concessions - packages of 3 games, parts of the stadium at reduced prices, parking in with the ticket or free public transport to the stadium.. you've got to keep people on their toes and following the team
I'm sorry, but I honestly still don't get you. I'll say again. If I don't want to go, I simply won't go. I don't need an excuse and I don't need a reason. Can you explain to me why I might?
Quote from Chris Long Cheif exec of Hull hospitals, “This will be another significant donation from Dr Allam and his family to the Trust, building on earlier support that has helped to transform the lives of our patients and their families through investment in modern, highly technical equipment, buildings and research. We are extremely grateful to Dr Allam for his continued support and we will work closely with him to ensure his vision for improvements to clinical research and patient facilities in our region are achieved.” Let’s hope you don’t need to use this lifesaving equipment, otherwise your principles may create a problem
Ok, let me put it a different way... If the allams go, do you think we will have a full house again? If new owners come in and bring back concessions but put adult prices back up to match most in the league, will we have full houses again? Do you think people who just don't want to go or just aren't interested ever just admit that or do they find and use excuses/reasons not to?
His charitable donations are admirable, but don't excuse him from the **** he gets for ****ing up our football club.
You mention & question peoples reasons for not going regularly. Whatever reason people have is their reason. If you don’t believe it tough. It's to expensive - For some it is. Blame the Allams. The atmosphere is rubbish - it usually is. Blame the Allams. The football is boring. Never heard that one. The owners are ****s ( agreed and FACT ) can't get there - Some people can’t. It's to Cold We aren't in the prem anymore - They were never supporters. We are rubbish - The were never supporters. I'm skint ( but still has money to smoke drink and get take aways ) - People have different priorities. 20 ***s & a Doner Kebab is far cheaper than attending a City match. Can't pay on the day ( over a week before the game so could buy a ticket ) - reasonable reason. Things change over a week. Do like the membership system or the card - it’s ****. Blame the Allams. These are nearly all valid reasons for supporters not attending. PL Whores are not supporters. Do you just go around randomly asking people if they’ll go to a match with you? Do you think it might be they just don’t want to go with you? We gained & then lost supporters when we went up & then dropped out of the PL on the first two occasions. We lost numbers after our last promotion due to the Membership Scheme. We’ve lost many more since because of the Allams. We’re now attracting the lowest levels of support in nearly 20 years. Why do you think that is?
Why would it create a problem you soft headed ****? Allam is a ****, a lying unscrupulous, bullying & worthless ****. The sooner he’s gone the better. He wouldn’t do it if it didn’t get his name in the paper. FACT.
I never said it does, I was responding to his moral principle comment. Personally I don’t have an issue with Aseem, I firmly believe Ehab is the poison behind all the ****.
Lowest level in 20yrs imo is a mixture of the owners, novelty finally wearing off of the new ground/rise up the league's/prem years. Some people's lack of money or as you say other priorities etc. The membership is poor for some and great for others. Yet again for some reason your taking it really personally and being massively defensive. You don't go because of the the owners and that's upto you even though for me I think as fans we should support the team and not let our hatred of the Allams take away from the support of the players and staff etc... Do you honestly believe that some people don't just find excuses not to go rather then reasons to go?
They revealed themselves to be a tinpot outfit at Wembley when every glory hunter and day tripper in S.Yorks got on the WAWAW bandwagon, whereas we had a steady following just a bit larger than our home crowd for well-documented reasons. Got into my seat at Wembley to have my senses assailed by 40 thousand 'fans' singing "HEE HAW Sheffuld Wensdeh".. That was as good as it got for them that day...singing their big song before the game. Whether they outsing us in 2 weeks time depends on the game, if we get control of it (like we did so easily at Wembley) they will soon pipe down and may even spare us that crappy "If yer don't flippin bounce" dirge. So yeah, let's hope it's like Wembley again. We only need to beat the vermin there now and we'll have got the hat trick of gobby 'big' Yorks clubs.
