Completely agree. It seems Klppp has ditched the horrible the flat 433 and is opting for 4231. I think Fabinho will start and he is proving to be an important part. Let him sit deep and we then get the best out of Gini and Hendo.
For a neutral, City is the safest bet I suppose - given that their overall performances have been higher than ours over the last few years. However, this game could go any way and is totally unpredictable. It could be anything: 0-0, 3-3, 4-1 to either side, or any other permutation imo. The only thing I think is certain is that Pep is going to be far more worried about it than JK.
3 cms does not work unless you have a creative spark. In addition, Fabinho, Gini and Hendo have all shown they’re better in a midfield 2
I think we've gradually found a new style of play this season. It was a bit blunt to start off with but has become more refined over time and started to yield really good results recently through some pretty complete football. We should apply this and see how it goes, then make changes if/when necessary. We've seen before that we can outplay and outscore City and also do backs against the wall defence against them. It's definitely uncertain what will happen though.
I think people are forgetting what a good side Man City are, the league table doesn't lie but it is seeing people get carried away. At this stage, I'd still make Man City favourites. Seems the bookies have us as favourites... ...but not standout to say we're seven points ahead.
the one thing i don't expect is us to go panicking and chasing the game. We destroyed arsenal after they scored even though some of our players were a bit all over the place. I don't think we will see full backs just lashing forwards with the same gusto tomorrow night. I think we will be very careful in how we set up and it'll be a close game. The key thing IMO is the possession stats. City don't play well with 50% of possession but we can be devastating with 50% possession. City typically have 60% plus. My one thing is will we kick a lot of possession away trying to find salah early or will we make them work for it. Then will city press high on our CBs? who knows.
how much of that is "betting man" attitude and how much of it is you don't want us to be favourites due to the pressure. TBH as of today I would advise anyone to get a little of city on those odds. its not quite 2/1 anywhere but thats not bad given what could happen tomorrow. for me however... if we win tomorrow i'm sorry but we are red hot favourites for the title. A loss and we are equals in the race imo by virtue of them having better squad depth to rotate. I think we can all agree however only a mug bets on spurs
just found article form 1st August City were 8/13 on for title (unbackable) we were 4/1 Spurs were 16/1 Utd were 4/1
