I thought the same, CC. And he has some ruggedness that would be useful against these teams that try to kick us off the pitch. Just hope when he comes back he'll be 100% ready to go.
I saw him in the game V Stevenage when he was hacked by one of their players which resulted in his injury and IMO he's a 'box to box' type of player. JM rated him during his time playing for Aberdeen!!b

I'd like to see us loan him until the end of the season. Hard worker with a bit of nous, and would arguably fit with our system IMO (playing as one of the 3 behind Pukki). I'm not certain he'd be first choice, but given our injuries/fitness issues, I'd be keen if the price/deal was right.

I guess the issue with Puncheon would be ensuring he is fit and up to speed. Might need a few weeks to bed in which isn't ideal in the short-medium term.
If he is fit its a no brainer with Puncheon... he is a decent player at Prem level, never mind the Championship! Would scare defenders to have him and Hernandez on either wing (whilst Buendia is out and Cantwell finds his form again, at least).
Could put the current 'togetherness' at risk. Buendia and Leitner will be back by the end of the month and Hanley, McLean and Marshall will probably play in the cup, so I'd be inclined against Puncheon on loan.
Not sure it would be THAT damaging to morale. A decent player like him could surely only boost morale and confidence?!

Puncheon to Huddersfield is being widely reported as close to completion. In terms of signings, it seems mad to want another midfielder, but I'd still like to see us sign a DM. We don't yet know how long Tettey is out for, but regardless there's few options in our squad who can play the same role as him. Thompson is constantly injured and Godfrey preferred elsewhere. I think Thompson needs a loan so he can try and play every game for the rest of the season, and an experienced DM joining on loan to augment our options there would be good. Some interesting rumours about Abrahams being recalled from Villa, and Barnes from WBA. That could do us a favour.
You make a valid point re a DM, but I think that DF/SW ill keep their ‘powder dry’ for now on that one. I’m sure DF said that he expects Tettey to be fit for our ‘prickly’ trip to the Hawthorns and Thompson is due back this month as well. I saw that Abrahams/Barnes rumour in a tweet from MB.
