Agree, a couple of months ago Batty seemed undropable , now it's great he can be given a rest to recharge and not fizzle out
Wasn’t enough screen space for 24. What kind of a league has 24 teams in anyway? Bottom 3 are obviously irrelevant.
I haven't seen Adkins comments about this but it makes sense. I was surprised to see him dropped after hearing he'd had his best game for us against Leeds but most of their team must have been 6ft+ apart from the midget that came on. I don't think I've seen a professional footballer that small.
I'm surprised it's taken so long for that to be mentioned, he was tiny, his wiki page says he's 5'3", but looked nowhere near that tall.
Announced as 12,418, so it will be a bit over 10k (I've not seen the actual figure confirmed anywhere yet).
There are lots of players around the world smaller than that. Ones I can remember are Bobby Collins who Revie describes his best ever signing as he started off their change in fortunes. He was half an inch shorter. I remember a lad I knew who was a highly promising skilful footballer being mightily pissed off after impressing everyone in a trial at Leeds United that he wouldn't make it as he was too small by Bobby Collins who he was taller than. Another one was Johnny Hancocks of Wolves, who a friend's dad who was from Wolverhampton used to wax lyrical about. He was about the same height and was known as the footballer with the smallest boot size. Won the League and Cup with Wolves. Still their 4th highest ever goalscorer and has scored more goals in the top division than any other Wolves player. Scored twice on his England debut but as a winger in the era of Matthews and Finney found his international chances limited.
It's great that we've got four players in there, but in reality, Burke was way better than de Wijs and Evandro was way better than Martin.
Cheers Febbos, that's made my return to work today easier to swallow. Them lads look very together indeed. Nigel, your'e a bloody genius. Ehab your'e a ****ing goon!
Some of the goals and touches would have had even Souness purrrrrrrring.... and I dont think even in the good times in the recent Prem have I seen a happier (seemingly) group... UTT
