Nonsense, we're in a better position than Chelsea and if we really wanted him we'd have put in a bid.
that figure wont count until summer though. by then its bye bye moreno sturridge and markovic. that's some wages off books. plus possible sales, so its not balancing books, i have heard klopp didn't fancy him, so we obviously have other targets.
sorry mito it does count now, loaning him straight back supposedly. i thought it was a pre contract type thing for summer with a compensation type thing they had agreed on value.
How? Better league position right now yes but look to FFP. We have a net spend as follows over 3 years 2018/19 to date 146mil 2017/18 -28mil 2016/17 - 6.5mil So that looks grand doesn't it. If we'd a budget of 40mil per year to spend then that amazingly aligned just about perfect. We've spent a lot this summer. Its now january so IMO we were not bidding 58mil for a player. I can't prove it and won't be saying on 1st feb if we signed nobody i must have been right. Our relative poistions don't actually count for much so the only quesitons to my mind is were we interested (and that is entirely subjective) and could we have matched cheslea. and the answer to that is i don't think so.
yeah they've paid the lot up front. just my opinion but i can see us spending another 50mil this january.
Didn't know you were going all net spend with this, I'll bow to your knowledge as I'm glad to say I have no clue.
me to but on who? i want to know who was in that ****ing van lol, not heard anything yet and everyone has no clue. fekir, werner? no it wasn't seen in mansfield, so definitely not for pies
Interesting transfer that one. Strange keeping him at Dortmund for rest of the season when he’s barely played for them this year. Big money for young player, lots of potential though, could be a very good signing. Replacement for Hazard though?
Would have liked Pulisic but it’s an expensive gamble on potential, and for someone who wouldn’t be starting many games. My guess is, we have someone better lined up.
Thing is, I have no idea how the latest TV deals impact the numbers. Champions League also increases our coffers. In 2016 we made a £20m loss - this now drops off the figures. Truth is that there is MUCH MORE money than there was previously - and successes bring even more, lucrative sponsorship deals. For all I know, we could spend lots more every year.
Its all about revenue. You are right about where we took a loss and we are always a year behind on the accounts. the thing is while there's a lot more money the fees have all gone through the roof. In 2017 our revenues were 364 mil with 39mil profit after tax. remember this covered the TV deal year 1 and the new stand opening. We can only conclude that in 2018 we may well report a bigger profit.
