Yes. I'll be going to the Sunderland game and as many more home matches as I can reasonably get to this season. Away games are unlikely, because of other things I have to do most weekends. I don't mind continuing to discuss the politics of the ownership and running of the Club, but I am no longer going to let that influence the way I feel about watching the team.
Don't worry Mr Lardiman you're in 'good' company with Mr van Gerwen, he's back going although to be fair to him he is getting a discount on his tickets...................
Clubshop was ridiculously busy today , and just to get you wet Ernie the queue for the programmes was massive , poor old Everitt had no queue ..
Of course the shop, for once, would be busy. Something to do with the 25th December. Bigbum, my spies tell me that we have only 3 programme sellers so your tale does not tell me there is a big demand. Rick Everitt is a misunderstood man, a bit like you, he is not the enemy.
I think most fans have worked out now that “the latest takeover rumour” always seems to coincide with a new edition of VOTV needing to be flogged.
You know the big gate at the back of the Covered End ? You will get a few stewards who will open it at half time, to let smokers stand on the other side to have a ***. No harm done ? The problems arise when Joe Jobsworth Senior Steward arrives and tells them to shut the gate, and not let the smokers back in ! I’ve seen that happen several times, with predictable rows ensuing. That’s why fans smoke in the toilets at half time like they were yesterday. Give a little man a High Vis jacket ....
So to clarify Lardi.. 1) You started off the season with a ST and going to games 2) You then started a season long boycott 3) After a few games you changed your mind and decided to support the team and end your boycott 4) After a few more games you decided that although not re-starting your boycott you would not attend all games 5) You have now decided to attend all games again and just support the team Have I got this correct? I am just getting a little confused... probably due to my age
Good win yesterday. Back in the day, we'd have reasonably expected to win against Walsall at our place, but between the ailment that is Douchatalet, and the ongoing injury crisis that is our first eleven, what we got was what sounded like a good game in which we started stronger, Walsall came back at us, and we won by virtue of scoring more goals. I found Bowyers comments about some of the players running on empty to be more than a bit disconcerting - we have just embarked on january, and have half a season to play. And the options for rotation are non existant. I don't know if it's a sort of open plea to the owner to invest and keep momentum going, but RD has no interest in the club beyond a sale on his own terms, so I'll be very very surprised if we get anyone in, and to be honest, it sounds like we need a mínimum of three new faces plus the injuries recovering.. Still, we have the rest of the week to prepare for the Sunderland match. Big game for both clubs - Sunderland do not have the sort of cushion where they can afford to drop points so may come looking for a win.
Something like that In a nutshell, I bought an ST last spring (I always buy early) but around the end of October I stopped going to home games because I admitted to myself that I was going through the motions of supporting the team but I wasn't enjoying going to the Valley anymore. Now I've decided to go again and enjoy it like I always used to - not let RD spoil my enjoyment. He can do what he likes now as far as I'm concerned. I don't care about him or his ways anymore.
You are inviting RD to 'do what he likes'? Terrifying proposition - please do not involve Charlton in your weird offers.
