you want the oddest things. to do what you ask would be to do the diametric opposite of what got us to first place in the table. there's only.one way to play city and we've done it successfully for years.
Why not just go all out and tell a sub that's not going to be used (Moreno) to cripple him Just win by playing football ffs, we don't need underhanded tactics.
Well... the only way for this lfc side to play city is how we've played them off the park in the past. run them off the field.
we have beaten them like that & also by sitting back and hitting them on the break. I would argue you tailor your tactics depending on who you have available and ensure on the bench you have players who can be used to change your set up if required .Plus you need to take into account the current strength / weakness of the oppo.
??? I am saying there are 3 teams which at this point are better than the rest - two of which meet this week - I think that is a simple enough premise Spurs are a very good side (now I feel dirty) I have no idea what I am not being clear on I have no idea what you were picking up on I Re read my original comment makes sense to me You appear to be focussed on some very small part of the comment If you don’t think spurs are a threat then fair enough I do - there is one point between those two sides I just didn’t want to discount spurs because if city are in the race then so are spurs unless you are saying title is now over and we have won it ? Ftr I don’t think you are saying that. On a different note I am really excited about this game
Fernandinho could take a machete to the opposition players and still only get a stern look from the ref.
Which is interesting as he usually gets booked instantly in the champions league and then City look average.
We should treat this game as a free hit imo. Yes a defeat will end our unbeaten run but the reverse scenario occurred last season and a defeat for City didn't hurt their title bid any. City have to win and we are lethal on the counter. That can only work in our favour really.
Nobody said otherwise. What people actually said is there is no need for us to act like dicks and lower ourselves to the level of others.
We do though, Salah has gone down easily twice in 4 days. The point is that if he wouldn't have done that it probably wouldn't have resulted in a goal. So sometimes the idea of playing fair and nice actually puts you at a disadvantage! If you can nullify City's tactical fouling by explicitly pointing it out to the ref by getting into the refs ear then it gives us a small advantage. There's such a small margin between both sides I think we need all the advantages we can get.
I don't like Salah going down easy, never liked Gerrard doing it either. If all players were honest, the referees wouldn't have such a difficult job. Hate to see disrespect towards the ref and the sooner players are punished for it the better.
I think there's a difference between disrespecting the ref and pointing out something illegal the opponents are doing though. I think having a strong captain that can communicate with referees in a respectful but convincing manner is really important in sport, and actually an underrated part of captaincy. I don't think Jimmy means getting 11 players surrounding the referee and intimidating him, you have your captain approach the referee and point something out so that its in the referee's head! An example would be before corners you have your captain approach the ref and politely discuss a defender that is prone to man handling attacking players.
Since he wishes injury on players (including or own), I think he did. Guess only Jimmy can clarify that though. Agree with rest.
Very harsh on Mo that, both were clear penalties given by well placed refs without a second thought. I thought Lovren's was more contrived, even though he was pushed.
the second yes but the first whilst he was pulled by Dumbshit (sp) the "fall" was just a tad over the overdone .
