Seems that Douglas is now the new whipping boy on here...

What a shameless bunch some of you are...jumping on the guys back instead of supporting him as should happen.

For the record I think he's doing fine, bringing stability to the left side and giving a consistent 7/10 performances week after week. That's a massive improvement on recent years where we've had a player running down his contact or Berardi manfully trying to do a job on his weaker side. Douglas has also had to cope with an ever changing back four and adjusting to being at a new club.

But hey ho have a few games which the cognoscenti on here view as below par and you're f**king useless.

He's a very good solid professional with a quality left foot and may I remind everyone that we are lucky to have signed him.
Jammy are you that surprised at the reaction by posters to certain players over the season so far. TBF there are worse things said on Twitter and FB. I'm more annoyed by the negative reaction to a team who are top of the Championship and after having just lost our first match in 8. If we get beaten tomorrow and lets be honest we could because we are playing a good team. The reaction could be worse. Douglas is the scapegoat today, Alioski, Forshaw, Bailey have also got it in the neck.<ok>

When I think of the fans who were moaning about losing Taylor and the players we’ve had at Lb including Parker, White, LDB Douglas is by far the best we’ve had with Pearce coming along nicely.
Coopers got it in the neck as well, Philips last season when supporters would have preferred him to have been sold instead of Viera.:( It's endless and normally happens after a defeat.<ok>

The thing is Shaks we've probably not even been able to put out our best team so far this season due to injuries.

When Cooper comes back we should be to field our best back 4, allowing Phillips and Forshaw to play together with Pablo in front. To complete the line up we would probably see Allioski and Clarke out wide with either Roofe or Bamford leading the line.

Others will obviously disagree as it seems Douglas and Ayling are now considered poor players by some, plus it will only take a couple more negative results before more players are hastily added to the useless list and so the never ending cycle of our own fans dragging the team down continues.

That's a lot of changes for such a difficult game Gessa<ok>

It is but required imo, because it is a difficult game. I'm not saying any of them are bad players but neither are in good form, if we had a stronger bench , I'd rest Klich and Douglas too. Ayling as played 3 games in a week after a lay off, one too many , not sure if Douglas has got over the bug that kept him out the Villa game but he looked off the pace, the 2 games after.

I find it hilarious that criticizing a player here could affect further performances. Does anyone really believe the players read this ****e <doh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
Firstly I'm surprised they can read in the first place. But you're right Eire nothing that we say on here will effect the players or team selection. It's just a few opinions from different posters on here regarding what a joke some of the comments on here and on other platforms from supporters regarding players after a defeat. <ok>

Well the moans and groans in the stadium certainly do and that negativity starts somewhere...might be on here, twitter or wherever else.

It only took on poster on here to criticize Douglas before others jumped on the bandwagon. That equals momentum and a shift in opinion towards the player but if you prefer to find it hilarious and you're happy with another 15 years in the footballing wilderness then please carry on.

It's time for supporters to change if they want success for their teams, social media can have a real impact on player perception and therefore eventually player performance.

I think Eire meant things written on here won't effect the players. You're right though regarding the supporters getting on players backs during games, it might knock their confidence, especially if it happens to the younger lads. I'm nervous about tomorrows game. <ok>

Perhaps some players warrant criticism as they are clearly not good enough.

There is no way Douglas, Ayling or Forshaw come anywhere near this category when we lie top of the table.

Time for supporters to support and not behave as if we're outside the play offs and desperate for both performances and results to improve.

You've started early:grin:
Been at work since three this morning shakes. So jumped in bed for a couple of hours. Just got up not even got any drink yet. She who fell over on holiday is catering this evening. I fancy a bottle of whisky as im off tomorrow. Happy new year and stop being so negative its getting depressing on here.

I know what he meant and he's wrong.

Negativity and unconstructive criticism does nothing to help our team and social media is everywhere and most players partake in it.

Lets see what happens in January before we predict top six. Four weeks is a lot of time for agents to rub their hands together.

Fair enough, just trying to keep the peace. I can understand the players on Twitter or FB, but with all due respects Jammy(and I could be wrong) I'd be very surprised if they look on here.<ok>
