Is the 'Spursy' tag justified ?

These Spuds will use any excuse they can muster to try and deny that they bottled the league. The latest one is that any team who have been top during the season must have bottled the league. So according to their desperate logic, Hull City bottled the league in 2008 and again in 2017 despite getting relegated

It's too early to say they've bottled the league and they certainly ain't out of the race despite what NSIS says.

But it's fun to take the piss obviously something I never do of course

 

It's the other way around. You can't bottle winning the league unless you were in a position to win it after a reasonably large number of matches. That's a necessary but not a sufficient condition.

So according to Spud logic, you can now only bottle the league if you are top, but not if you're top and you're one of the smaller clubs, or if you're top, but aren't top for a certain amount of undefined amount of time ( presumably decided by Spurs fans ). And you can't bottle the league if you're second and pushing for a top spot and certainly not at all if you're second and your players tweet out 'We're coming to get you'

I think if at any point in any given season, your fans start singing "we're coming for you", then they are fair game when the challenge fizzles out like a soggy firework. That's pretty much the rule right there.

Completely agree. The fans are fair game. The team isn't. We've not had the best team in the League since the mid sixties so they can't have bottled it.
