Walsall ran high flying Luton very close in the last game, so cannot be mugs to be taken lightly. One assumes that Sarr, Stevenson and Morgan will get a run out for the emaciated Addicks ? Looking forward to going tomorrow, and to swelling the Bank Holiday attendance to over 8,000.
For me … Steer Dijksteel...Bauer...Sarr ...Stevenson Marshall..Bielik...Reeves ...Fosu ...Taylor….Grant
Not available (or possibly not) Solly, Aribo, Pearce, Steer, Page, Cullen, Lapslie, Ward, Vetokele, Forster-Caskey, Clarke Possible line-up; Phillips Dijksteel, Bauer, Bielik, Stevenson Morgan, Sarr, Fosu, Reeves Taylor, Ajose (subs) Maynard-Brewer, Marshall, Pratley, Maloney, Sarpong-wiredu, Grant, Hackett-Fairchild
Have you been drinking the mouthwash rather than spitting it out again Lardi? BowJackson always plays Bielik as a def mid if he has two other centre halves to play.. however he did praise Pratley when he played Centre Half in the FA Cup game (I think it was FA Cup?)
Phillips; Dijksteel, Bauer, Pratley, Sarr; Marshall, Bielik, Reeves, Fosu; Grant, Taylor. Doesn't look too bad, until you look at the bench. Whoever is on it there should be seven players.
Fair enough, I had not spotted that about Bielik. I didn't think he had been played much in midfield this season, but I'm a bit out of touch not having been to a game for a while. So maybe Sarr at the back and Bielik in defensive mid as you suggest. I thought Ajose might get a start because I heard Grant is playing with an injury of some kind. Formations & tactics are not my strongest suit but I thought I would have a punt, as it's a new year
It has now.been confirmed, since this press announcement, that Steer has been recalled for the Villa game against QPR. Bunn is the only senior keeper. 9:25AM New £5.4m signing Lovre Kalinic is not eligible for tomorrow’s home game with QPR, meaning Villa will consider recalling Jed Steer from his loan at Charlton. For the moment, Mark Bunn is the club’s only available senior keeper and could be set for just his fourth appearance in two years against the R’s. https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...-nyland-injury-deals-aston-villa-a-body-blow/
From what I understand it is possible Aston Villa may recall Jed Steer for one match only (on Tuesday). I did not think that was the way it worked, but a foreign sports website has suggested this. Could it be some kind of emergency recall procedure? If so, then I guess it will just mean Dillon Phillips gets a league game on Tuesday. I read that Ashley Maynard-Brewer has been out on loan for a short while, but his loan ends today. I guess (if that information is accurate) he could be on the bench on Tuesday.
Aston villa journalist has confirmed that since aston villa qpr press conference jed steer has been recalled and will be on bench vs qpr tuesday
Thats when Clause 55.1.2 comes into play any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window; But agreed; Steer was on a Full Season Standard Loan so cant come back to us on that registration with the Football League (that Documents has effectively been shredded with his recall) so we'd now surely have to log a whole new loan registration form or whatever it is with the Football League which would be for the Half-SEason.
A complete farce, but then again Villa re said to be picking up over 90% of Steer’s wages, which is probably the main reason we signed him.
Nice to see Billy Clarke on the bench. With Albie Morgan you get some running power. I agree with Royston what does that say about Marshall and Pratley.
