McCarthy continues to perplex me. Need an abacus at this point to try and balance out his saves he shouldn't make that he has, and the saves that he didn't make that maybe he should have. Overall I find it hard to blame him on the weight of his work, but just too many goals at the moment which provoke a kind of uncertain grimace when it comes to his efforts. Focus in training should definitely be in co-ordination when not set and/or body-weight going the wrong way. I don't know if I'm alone in it but when it comes to the list of players to be moving on, Austin comes top for me, even ahead of our lovably hopeless Irishman. Especially now we're playing high tempo football again.
Also there was the issue of knackered players as he is trying to establish who is fit enough and good enough to play his pressing game. Had to be changes in my opinion. I'm glad that our youngsters had that experience without getting a severe roasting. Would have told the Hutt a lot, and gave them heart for the fight.
If caring means missing 4 games through utter stupidity then yes he cares more. He's been superb up to that point but that tackle was just stupid and awful. We had lost the game anyway. It's all well and good showing passion but he's got to use his head as well.
Very much agreed. Seen loads of stick given to the line-up and 'hanging the youngsters out to dry'. Never the case for me. If we had the luxury of time, sure, ease the young lads in and don't rotate quite so drastically. But we don't have anything close to the luxury of time. And there's nothing wrong with a stern test either. Not to mention looking at it from the pragmatic side of this being a 'bonus' game anyway.
It's not his first he's just come back from a ban! His ill discipline means he's missing 5 games at the worst possible time of year! That warrants a fine in my book.
It was pretty close. If you move the refs testicles from your nose and check the replay it may help your stance on this.
A ban after 5 yellow cards... So everyone who got a red coming from 5 sporadic yellows deserve a fine do they?!
Bang on. Pretty much exactly what I wanted to post. Today's team selection was shocking. I'll cut Ralph some slack, because he has to find out one way or another which players are up to the job. But, in the Premier League these days, you have to field two very fast attacking players, at the very bare minimum. Especially when neither of our full backs have much pace. Drop Redmond okay, but then play you have to play Long instead of Elyo. Surely, today was Lemina's last chance. Gotta **** that twat off completely. Steven Davis recall for me.
