I’m of the opinion we will sign at least 2 players, one of which will be a keeper and the second will be a replacement for Saiz. I also hope we sign a striker as Bamford looks like he may struggle getting back this season. I also believe we will sign at least one kid for the academy I mention mood because as we know some think we have no money, an owner only in it for himself, an owner who only wants the best for the club, .......
I believe a new keeper is a nailed on certainty and I don't think it will be a new number 10, I think Pablo has made that his own now so we will be looking for someone to play out wide, I don't think it will matter too much if it is wide left or wide right as Clarke, Harrison and Alioski will battle it out for the other position. I don't believe we will send Harrison back unless it is mutually agreed and he gets sent out to someone where he will play more first team football. Izzy Brown might still make it into the team, if we could sell Bamford and get back what we paid for him I'd snap their hand off, as I can't see that happening I don't believe we'll see a new striker, Bamford is good and injury prone and cost in the region of £8m and I don't see that we have that kind of money to use on another striker and have Bamford, Roofe, New Striker battling it out for one spot. I think if Bowen leaves it will be for big money to a PL team, £10m would be a no lose gamble to them, they might even loan him back to Hull for the remainder of the season. January is the time for home grown players to triple in money so our outfield signing will come from overseas, Keeper maybe not and I have to agree with Mike I think Westwood might be the one we see arriving. Mood is I believe we probably have around £8m to spend, a bit more if someone else is sold, it also depends on the truth behind Saiz and if we are paying his wages and receiving a fee or not and if we can send Baker back. Hopefully we are not paying Saiz a wage, Blackman went back and Cibiki is on the verge of a move so that's three wages saved
Meant to say before, but I don't think Baker will be sent back. Bielsa had him stripped & was about to bring him on against Villa & Blackburn before deciding not to after we scored the late winners. So he's obviously still in his plans. Can't say I'm thrilled about it, personally, but who knows what he has to offer. Perhaps it's the right midfield combination that will bring out the best in him, once discovered. Bielsa clearly sees something in him & who am I to think I know better?
I must admit I am quite excited about this transfer window. I think it is because I'll just accept whoever we get it's going to be someone Bielsa has watched and said "yes" to. I might regret saying this but... I do believe we'll see them arrive in the first few days rather than the end of the month. I'm confident everything is in place and we're just waiting for the clock to tick over and the window to open.
Expect a keeper as it’s a no brained and I won’t comment further on that score. Personally not sure Radz is tight, just don’t think he has the spare cash to invest. Just an opinion though. Not sure what we have at present can’t get us over the line. They’ll be very close
Another point, admit you have £8m to spend and every player you enquire about will strangely cost £8m. Large gates, we were after Vydra at £11m so surely there must be a bit in the pot?
11 Sports UK is firewalled away from Leeds Utd and stands alone. The cash available in the club is tight but thats before looking at getting it. What I mean by that is there is cash available to borrow if thats what we need to do and we are a million miles away from breaking FfFPRules about £39m actually. To give Roofe an upgraded deal will also cost because he deserves to be on a oarr with Bamford who is the high earner at the club. It will be at least doubling his wages which costs maybe a £1m per year. We also have cash coming in from previous player sales and cash going out for previous player purchases. Its a fluid business and if Radz thinks this is the best shot at promotion he will ever get then he needs to throw the kitchen sink at it now. Next season we could be still in the Championship and have no Bielsa, so Radz needs to hold on to his balls and do it this season
Spurs, Liverpool and Man City play Bielsaball or slight variants of it. Built around fast high press with goals coming from the front 3. Lots of goals and lots of possesion. Being in the Championship we dont have the same quality of front 3 yet Roofe is doing his bit but needs help because thats where we lack. Bamford and Roofe with Clarke could be the answer, yet uncertainty around Bamford and the young Clarke means we should try and add quality
If we’re being honest, most fans can see this. Bamford and brown likely to play small roles in the season if any. Of course additions are required. The issue is whether rads lack of football experience will cloud his judgement. Having got to the summit of the mountain on a relative shoestring he may be fooling himself into believing he’s done enough
He should take a look at Bates and how he refused to bring in players for Grayson because we were top and been in top 6 all season. We collapsed and finished 7th and years later still here. He would be stupid to think we have enough I really believe he knows what hes doing and will try his best to get what Bielsa needs
I'm fairly upbeat - I think we'll def get a keeper and probably a replacement for Saiz and possibly a striker. The last two will depend on how they think Brown and Bamford are doing and they're going to be a lot better informed on both their condition and ability than I am.... The key things that will effect the window will be Bielsa's requirements and then player availability - we're not going to sign for the sake of it - they'll have to be available, better or as good as we've got and within budget. The definition of budget will be what a lot of fans will judge the window on but I have faith and don't think Radz will be doing a Bates. I know some people view him as doing it on the cheap but where investment has been needed in terms of the ground, building up what what state the academy was left in, staff players and managers etc I think he's done a good job.
