Fair enough but it's not like it wasn't obvious that you were short a few more legs in the summer. If you had them then 3 games in 7 days would've been more managble. Do you think you'll buy in Jan?
Guardiola will be expecting a reaction to their recent defeats today. If he doesn’t get they really would seem to be ****ed.
We weren't that short. Dembele and Wanyama look like they're finished, though. That's wrecked our depth. Dier had to have his appendix removed during our busiest period, while the youth player that came through in pre-season got knee ligament damage. Aurier, Vertonghen and Lamela also missing left us very short, while Llorente appears to be getting sold, so he was left out. We've got too many players that aren't contributing, but are taking up squad places. We need to move them on before we can bring anyone in, plus our homegrown numbers are a little messed up. Dier and Davies not counting doesn't help there, but there's not a lot that we can do about that.
Yeah everyone is going about how it's the best time to play them and I don't really see that myself. Reckon we'll more likely get a pissed off City with a point to prove which probably won't end well for us
not convinced that we do have a larger squad as in some areas it is very thin , particularly FB , i would say Klopp has learnt from previous seasons & rotated more whenever possible . The rotation in MF has led to it often being only 1 MF starting from prev game and if a game seems settled early at least 1 of the front 3 is subbed off something that Poch doesn't seem to have done. We have had less injuries than you , though more than is often acknowledged , but in your case some were very predictable in Wanyama & Dembele at least 1 of which needed replacing this summer. Edit : oops I should have read on as PNP has dealt with some of those points in a later post.
