Women drivers and on a golf course to boot! https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/ne...into-a-river-by-a-cart-driven-by-their-wives/
on the train yesterday , poor woman in next seat , her train had been cancelled , so she gets on the next one , happens to be a virgin one , her ticket isn't valid so has to pay again for her journey ..... the wonders of privatisation , rip off the punter
Does anyone remember how many Premier League titles legends Michael Owen, Steve McManaman, Jamie Redknapp and Steven Gerrard amassed between them? Interestingly they all seem to know that Liverpool have a title winning side after just half the season. No point playing the rest of it – just give them the trophy. The fair-weather Liverpool fans (including my brother) are going to be insufferable by May judging by the reaction of the second-teamers in Hull: this is the greatest Liverpool team ever assembled – the treble is a formality. They may finally get one back on the Manchester United second-teamers after all those years of success under Fergie. Still no sign of someone buying out the Tigers and winning anything... the kid that scored both goals against Leeds will probably be playing for them by the end of January.
Fail to see what privatisation has to do with it. If she bought a train ticket that is only valid on one train, it is cheaper because it is limited; however, if the train is cancelled, she should surely be entitled to a refund on the ticket (if she bothered to check the conditions). A different train operator is not required to honour the ticket unless the ticket purchased was an Open one with conditions that made it valid for ANY train on the specified route (more flexible equals more expensive). I successfully claimed a refund off National Express once when their bus from Portsmouth to London was diverted via Southampton to collect passengers from a cancelled NE bus and I missed my train at Kings Cross. I had to buy a ticket (£80) at the station because my advance ticket (£28) was for a fixed time train. Back in September, I had booked non-refundable train and plane tickets for France and when the Communists at the RMT stopped me getting a train to Newhaven, I never got on the ferry and lost my money. What a wonderful world we live in where the left persists in dragging everyone down to their lowest level possible because we will all be equal at the bottom.
you are blind to progress , a simple nationalised transport system does away with all this unnecessary hassle , think how many layers of bureaucracy are involved with all these operators , you're one of the few dinosaurs that have an ideological aversion to the common good opposed to private greed
There is no “common good” in running a train system like the French one where lots of empty trains run at all hours of the day (at the expense of everyone, train users or not) to places where nobody wants to go and where the residents are in no hurry to leave. There does not appear to be any bureaucracy involved in showing up with a valid ticket for the train that you are trying to board, only general stupidity amongst those who cannot be bothered to buy the right ticket for the right train. If you choose to gamble on a fixed ticket because it is cheapest, you can get screwed over by the Communists. Why is it that Momentum are only targeting the brain dead youth via social media?
you are either deliberately ignoring a easy to understand point or are suffering from third stage syphilis
i it's called a service , the clue is in the name , not a business , a service , providing cheap , clean , safe transport whenever people need it , not an expensive , inconsistent and basically inefficient use of public subsidy to enrich a few favoured companies .......
The one and only Christopher Grayling pulls another rabbit out of his imaginary hat. A company, Seaborne Freight, has been awarded a government contract of £14mn. for ferry services operating out of Ramsgate .................. the only problem is that this is a shell company that owns precisely sweet f**k all ferries! Imagine my surprise to learn that this contract was awarded in virtual secrecy over the Christmas break! I f****n' love Brexit! Oooops; please consider this post mildly political.
Since I have no idea what “third stage syphilis” amounts to I can only assume that you have it and will enlighten us. You are not making an “easy to understand” point, you are just ranting on about the same old loony ideal of nationalising everything even though that was proven to not work when it was last done.
Not sure why you went to the trouble of quoting your own post that appeared immediately before instead of just putting both sentences in the same comment. Are you becoming totally deranged as well as deluded? Is that “third stage syphilis”? The word “service” is irrelevant. I could say that the only “service” I get from Hull City Council for my council tax is emptying the bin. Unfortunately, the useless cretins have not emptied my recycling bin for over a month now so it is full to the top. I expect this level of incompetence from a council that is run by a bunch of Corbyn brown nosers who should all be disbarred from office; and I should stop paying any council tax until they sort it out.
KLM, now they always get me back and forwards between UK and wherever I am on my jaunts on time and in relative comfort, but their flyingblue memebership is bollocks. I am a currently a silver member and was due, i thought, to be upgraded to gold. My flight yesterday from Nairobi to Entebbe would of pushed my xp points over the threshold to be upgraded as their frequent flyer points run Jan 1 to Dec 31. Only now do i find as my last flight was on Dec 31 it will take up to 2 weeks to show on my membership so will go on next years tally and i start from nil xp points from today. So in essence they run a memebership from Jan 1 to Dec 16. Unreal.
These airline loyalty Programmes can be totally frustrating. I achieved BA gold Status early December so was looking forward to taking the wife and kids into the First class longe at Heathrow on our way down to Australia. When we got to the entrance, the lady informed me that they had a strict “1 guest only policy” so my status was basically pointless - I couldn’t take my wife and 3 kids into the lounge. I’m planning to try the Cathay first lounge in Hong Kong (one world emerald status) so hopefully they will be more accommodating.
