Really? The only person who has remotely addressed my points has been yourself. Im calling out Medro as this thread was created in honour of his blind loyalty to supporting the Israeli cause (because it seems to be the buzz thing for Protestants in N Ireland to do all of a sudden) without having any knowledge of what he is supporrting. Everyone else seems to have sidetracked the thread into who can out do each other in the violation of human rights stakes (irrelevant to the OP), talking about religion (again nothing to do with the OP) or just downright lies (arms on Palestinian flotilla boat) and spurious reasoning as to why there should be inconsistencies in the international community's attitudes (3rd world dump/poor infrastructure)
Maybe no one has addressed your points because they are as biased and unbalanced as the points you are arguing against.
It's because it's a waste of time arguing with someone who is not going to change his mind no matter what and dismisses anything he doesn't like as lies or irrelevant
But you have presented nothing to support your (off topic) claims there were arms on the flotilla etc...
I am no Ally of Medro's but when he posted his article the other day about Israel he was simply making the point that the Jews are once again being painted as the bogeymen (I think). I am no supporter of Israeli policy nor am I an apologist for their actions but considering how they were treated in the past is it really any wonder that they look out for themselves and don't take **** from anyone?
The "Peace" Flotilla? How much aid was aboard the Mavi Marmara? And If it was entirely peaceful why were only Turks killed?
Would you no think it would also teach them lessons in how to treat others and the negatives in adopting a severe "if your aren't with us you are against us" attitude. Why would they force their own version of the Warsaw ghetto on the Palestinians etc? They have become almost as bad as those that persecuted them previously
Define aid. It contained items the Israelis banned but that does not mean it was arms. It was thins like concrete etc for rebuilding the ravaged place. What has only being turks got to do with anything? There was only a couple of people on board who werent Turks
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...but-excessive/2011/09/01/gIQApkWsuJ_blog.html The report concluded that “Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza” and had imposed the naval blockade “as a legitimate security measure” to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea. Israeli commandos “faced significant, organized and violent resistance from a group of passengers when they boarder the Mavi Marmara, requiring them to use force for their own protection,” the report found. And the flotilla had nothing to do with aid and everything with trying to cause trouble. There are lots of ways to help a person or group of people that don't involve seeking a confrontation with a country's armed forces.
What did I say about comparing people with the Nazis the other day? Do we really need to go down that road Jacky?
The Mavi marmara was a "Blockade Runner", nothing more nothing less. There was nothing peaceful in it's purpose.
I cant believe you used that report! And I supposedly present things in a biased manner The same report that caused a global outcry? That caused Israel too lose one of its few allies in the region in Turkey?
Difference between Israeli actions and Nazi actions in Warsaw are pretty much scale only. Germany did it on a larger population but the intent seems to be exactly the same
Jacky- Godwins Law, look it up. How can you have any standing if you have a go at people for using the same tone as which the thread was originally set? Two faced.
Bertie what are you on about? Im presenting them as they are. You present the same facts I have in your own manner then and show me how it should be "unbiased"
Oho Turkey was always drifting away from Israel under its new government. The old government would never have let the flotilla set sail.
