Charlton revisit the scene of probably my greatest away day as a fan - the 6-0 thrashing a few years back, when even “Cally Messi” (whatever happened to him?) got on the score sheet. Tomorrow’s trip to Oakwell held about as much appeal as a DVD titled Elfs on Love Island, but I was up for it until the Cmas trains made it impossible Fortunately we have much valued and highly respected fellow Bromley lad @Clb74 there to provide us with his usual in depth match analysis, including “got a goal” and “fvck it’s cold”. Rich Cawley is reporting that Jamie Ward (injured anyway) is returning to Forest. It will be interesting to see if Bowyer can put a team together and fill the bench.
Serious comments only please As you are well aware, the last train departs the sh1thole that is Barnsley at 5pm....meaning I would have to run out of Oakwell at 4.30pm (and its an uphill walk to Barnsley station )
I was at the 6-0 game, this game was the weekend after Maggie Thatcher died. I was in the boozer before the game and got into a conversation with a couple of locals who were not upset she had died. I had to bite my lip as in the main I believe you should not speak ill of the dead.
Walking through Barnsley Town Centre before the game, they had an effigy of the PM and a band and march celebrating her death. Classy people. I am not saying the area is grim, but even Chernobyl refused to be twinned with Barnsley.

Our Wales scout Ivor is telling the apologists Barnsley are going to pan us. He said this for the home game, we won easily.
Good luck to 606ers @Clb74 and @DickPlumb at today’s game I attach photos, so that you can identify each other at Oakwell later, and have a chinwag. @DickPlumb @Clb74
