I would like to ask why you are content with being the dishrag for the clique? Embarrassing.

Funnily enough that is how you have been described by other posters, they say you hide behind a thin veneer of reasonableness.
It was much better when you was still in hiding, far less insults.

    Give me the evidence...

I can give you loads of evidence about your abusive sense of humour.. And find people on here who will provide the evidence.
You get pleasure about winding others up.. Nasty and narcissistic

There you go.. I respond to your reponse to my previous post about the Brexit debate .. Not aimed at anyone.. Asking for a reasoned reply.. And then you join in with SH and have a go at me.
You seem only to have interest in abuse.
I will not get drawn into a slanging debate with you... Maybe ask your self why you too have to act in this way...

I have to wonder if there is any point to this thread ( and the EU one as well). I really enjoy reading alternative views, ideas, expectations. I don't expect to change opinions - especially regarding Brexit - but I do find the continual sniping, snide comments, unnecessary put-downs of people with differing views beyond tedious. It doesn't move the discussion forward. In fact it is rather pathetic. Worse, I feel dragged into it, out of frustration. However, there is a pattern. The insults seem more likely to appear when the 'other sides' argument is more compelling.
(My own interventions are, admittedly sporadic so nobody need take nay notice of this comment either. They will now become vanishingly small.)
I feel quite sad that we have well-off (presumably) well-educated (possibly) well-read (judging by the level of detail in some aspects) people who are so dislikeable, given the tone of the contributions.

This board was like a fragile ecosystem, everyone was polite and courteous then things changed...

Since you stopped wearing the kaftan and beads your love and peace message has gone sour, you must try harder to more polite.

For some unknown reason your constant attempts to 'score points' by winding others up comes over particularly badly at this festive time of the year - all very sad. On other forums they have started on the festive greetings already - but not here apparently. In fact some people even stop wars for Christmas.

  13. Oh I dunno - this thread sometimes reminds me of my mum's house at Christmas...

The clique is alive and kicking.

I've certainly got the xmas spirit, I'm scouring the record shops to send our hippy Northern friend a 45 rpm copy of San Francisco

The first rule of this forum is that everyone, yes everyone, should show respect to other posters. Like many other moderators I have been busy today and cannot sit around reacting to every post that is put up. However I have now sat down for the evening and have read through every post that has been made during the day, and in my opinion there have been far too many posts that have not been respectful of other peoples opinions. There have been some thoughtful and intelligent posts, while at the same time far too many that have been the opposite.
I find myself in the Sir Graham Brady situation, that should I receive sufficient PMs of complaint, then I would have little option but to request a site ban. Once that is granted it is then up to me to decide for how long, a week, a month, or whatever. I have had requests in the past, but most of the posters on this site are very tolerant people, so I have not been under undue pressure to request one. It is the last thing that I want to do. Different mods on other sites have their own standards, some will call for a ban after a couple of posts, while others will tolerate things for much longer, believing as I do that for adults to behave in a desultory way to others is demeaning for the poster who is making these comments.
Every poster has three options if they feel aggrieved by another. 1. Put that poster on ignore, and don't read what they say. 2. Read what they say, but never respond. Eventually the poster will finish up ignored and will simply be talking to themselves. 3. The final straw option, send me a PM and if I receive enough complaints will act.
Everyone who contributes to this site does so because they are a Watford fan. Read the matchday threads and you will see that there are different opinions on what happened. These never boil over into slagging off other posters, yet some seem to think that abusing others is fine when we try to discuss other matters.
Time to grow up, or face reality. I might even send myself a PM when I get fed up with some of the comments.

My friend from Dorset phoned today and said that three months ago he was sat in a hospital waiting room waiting for some tests. The person sitting next to him was Paddy Ashdown, who he found a really down to earth decent person to talk to as they both waited their turn. Great to hear that a lifelong Tory would have voted for Paddy if given the chance. So what is your MP like I asked. "Not a clue, never seen him, and wouldn't know what he thinks", was the reply. So why do you vote for him? "Need to vote for someone I guess."
It will not be easy to break the mould of tribal UK politics.
