Love the title Dunc. It’s going to be a different challenge with 3 or 4 Chelsea loan players and Wilson from Liverpool probably playing for Frank Lampard's Derby and of course, we’ll get the growing list of injury updates in DF’s presser this afternoon. Could be a chance for McLean and Passlack to show what they can do.
One blessing for Norwich (and well done scouting team) is that despite the blow of losing Leitner, we do have Vrancic to step in and cover. Either or would be good, to have both is excellent. As opposed to LB, where if / now Lewis is injured, any enforced change will be disruptive and most likely weaken the team. Where's Steven Whittaker when you need him?
Forgot about Passlack! Time for him to step up maybe and give Farke an even bigger selection headache?
Gloomsville, Arizona DF: Emi [Buendia] will be out for thre or four weeks with a ligament injury. He doesn't need surgery. Moritz [Leitner] is five or six days into his rehab. I think they are both expected to return at the end of January. It's far from ideal as they are both crucial for our performance and our rhythm. Jamal Lewis is also out with a ligament injury and we will be without him for three games. We hope Christoph Zimmermmann is back, he had a rest day at home yesterday and if he can train today he will be available for tomorrow.
I think we have the unity in the squad where anyone that gets the chance to play will work their socks off for the cause. We have had goalkeeping cock ups missed penalties and the others have pulled up the players by the scruff of their necks and gone on to win or get a result. Max on boxing day Krul on a few occasions pukki Vrancic and Rhodes for penalty fluffs. Hernandez is back from injury and on fire Klose Mclean and Matt Jarvis also just returned Passlack and Marshall available Pinto even. I would be more concerned if we lost Pukki or Krul and I'm certain that whoever plays will run through brick walls for the badge tomorrow.
I'm guessing Max will play LB? Time for Passlack or Marshall to prove themselves at RB. I much prefer Marshall as a player further forward. So I'd go Passlack to give him a go. I'd be surprised if we haven't had a call about him not getting any game time on his loan.
Im hoping for: Krul Godfrey Hanley Klose Hernandez Tettey Vrancic Aarons Stiepermann Pukki Rhodes Unless Lewis is fit (Unlikely)?!
Marshall didn't look good at RB earlier in the season. We could go with 3 at the back, but nobody but me seems to like that. Including DF.
We need to win tomorrow just to keep our position as the other four of the top six all have relatively easy home games: Leeds vs Hull Middlesbrough vs Ipswich Sheffield United vs Blackburn (not quite as easy for S.U.) West Bromwich Albion vs Sheffield Wednesday
I don't think Leeds vs Hull will be easy. .. Maybe wishful thinking but I can definitely see Leeds slipping up with that one
You or DF prefer Cantwell? I like Cantwell but not sure how he would fair in a more central role? Id say Pukki would drop into that role better and leave Rhodes up top?
