I have a faint recollection of a couple and had to google them. These are according to attackingsoccer.com TBH I had forgotten about any of them till Mr Head brought up the existence of mistakes. Overall, they have no bearing on David Seaman's performance for me. He remains my favourite keeper for the club and the safest pair of hands I have ever seen.
One mistake for Arsenal does not make 'howlers of the sort that Seaman unfortunately became famous for.' as the HotHead claims.
Get back on topic or sumfink you ancient Gog Here's my awesome team with loads of Seaman Dixon Keown Adams Winterburn Overmars Petit Vieira Pires Henry Bergkamp Subs Smith, Campbell, Ljundberg, Fabregas, Cole, Rocky & Lehmann
Yo Supa Very nearly the same team as mine. We must be the youngish ones around here Which Campbell pls?
From memory: Nayim lob, Gascoigne free kick at Wembley, Ronaldinho free kick, Ryan Giggs (beaten at near post), Macedonai corner went straight in.
Only three of those "mistakes" were made whilst playing for Arsenal, not bad when considering some of the saves he made for us
Jennings Rice - Adams - Campbell - Sansome Brady - Vieira - Fabregas -Bastin Bergkamp - Henry Subs: Seaman, Cole, Keown, McLintock, Strong, Wright What firepower and defensive meanness!!!
Gascoigne free kick at Wembley? I was there & I don't remember anyone blaming Seaman for not getting to what was a very well taken free kick! Ryan Giggs (beaten at near post)? I assume you mean FA Cup Semi Final Replay. Again I don't remember anyone blaming Seaman at the time for that. Considering Giggs took on and beat our whole defence it's hardly surprising it is!
I'm surprised only one of you chose Frank McLintock (albeit only for the bench). What about Charlie George?
Thought about Charlie but his relative lack of goals (31 from 133) ruled him out, also thought of Ted Drake, Bob McNab, Bob Wilson and Alan Ball but you have to draw the line somewhere. Makes you realise what great players we used to have and how none of the current squad get a look in though.
I think the player I've been most envious of your was Ian Wright, who you bought from Crystal Palace. We bought Chris Armstrong! Boy, did we sign the wrong player!
