BIG news :

Pochettino has allegedly stated Spurs have triggered the Toby extension clause.

 

The BBC seem to be suggesting that because we have triggered the extra year for Toby now , the £25m release clause is active in the January window, does anyone know if that is the case?

 

As I understand it, any club that’s interested has to notify us a minimum of 14 days before the summer 2019 window closes.

It bollocks...from when summer window opens and only applies up to 2 weeks before it shuts.

Even a slight thought would have told the BBC journo that it would be stupid to trigger his extention before the window if it meant he could be taken for £25m in mid season by a rival

This morning Sky claimed that Toby was available for £25m last summer but no one came in for him

 

These were my thoughts, but I rather ridiculously thought that the BBC may know better than me!!!

The Toby thing has been twisted by the press imo.

Instead of a 4 year contract meaning he could leave for free in July 2019 and talk to foreign clubs in Jan 2019, Spurs added the extension clause which will mean ‘only’ getting £25million.

Ideally of course he signs a new long term deal but if worst comes to worst then at least he doesn’t go for free next summer.

 

Ideally he will be too busy counting his winners medals to he time to talk to other clubs.
