I think Ronaldinho at his best ( i know he didnt sustain it ) was in comparison leagues ahead of the four you mentioned. and as a goalscoring machine C.Ronaldo is probably one of the best to walk the planet, and Maldini is one of if not the best deffender ever, so how are those four leagues ahead?
Wouldnt necessarily say your right, for example id say inesta is 5th best currently never mind including people from zidanes era. but hey thats just me
I remember my dad always saying - "watching Pele play football is better than watching Beethoven play the piano" A line that will stick with me for the rest of my days.
sorry but ronaldinho at his best was not as good as messi today, nor zidane nor the great ronaldo.. as for comparing him to maradonna... no way... like i said ronaldinho is just once face amongst a crowd of great players like c.ronaldo, henry et al.... c.ronaldo will never be considered a true great as his antics on the field alone preventit, the sultk the lack of team play... the players i've picked out are idolised by their own team mates let alone fans so while ronaldinho might have made that list had his motivation lasted c.ronadlo will not despite his goal scoring. yes maldini amonst others i've seen stands out as the greatest defender and going forward for milan he was amazing too, but could i elevate a defender to make it a top 5? not sure.... in the end they are my top 5 and my favorites so in other words just cos you don't agree doesn't make you in anyway right... there is not "rigth or wrong" answer to the question you've posed.
Firstly i think ronaldinho at his best was indeed quite a better than both messi and zidane, some of the things he done were incrediable and no matter ho you mask it he was a true great. Secondly this is about footballing skill in my mind ronaldo i think has the best goal to game ratio at real madrid, ever arguably the biggest team in the world, top scorer in history of the la liga another huge league and hes already achived so much in his career and hes still got at least 4 years left, despite his antics no one can claim hes not talented, everyone knows that. And if i had to pick a team id pick maldini over anyone else to be honest, no one is leagues ahead of him because hes the best in his postion ever. but again thats just my opinion
The two lines in bold completely contradict each other. Were Maradona's on field antics any better than Ronaldo's?
top 5 players: Maradona Brazilian Ronaldo Zidane Messi Maldini Top 5 favourite players Maradona Brazilian Ronaldo Gheorghe Hagi Romario Robert Prosinecki Honorable mentions: Michael Laudrup, Enzo Scifo, Hristo Stoichkov, Gianluigi Lentini, Bruno Conti, Bobby Baggio, Eder, Zico, JJ Okocha, Luis Figo
Stay off the drugs bloke !!!! Ronaldinho was good but he was mostly about tricks. I love tricks, being able to do tricks on a pitch and incorporate that into a game on a full size pitch is amazing - thats why I loved watching Robert Prosinecki - a more skillful player I don't think you can name, but it's not just about tricks is it. Zidane and Messi have taken it to a level that Ronaldinho maybe reached once but was unable to sustain, Zidane and Messi sustained it.
I guess you really cant read, now scroll up and what did i say "( i know he didnt sustain it )", what ronaldinho done was amazing, he wasnt just about tricks, he had everything, control, skills, free kicks, shooting, crosses, free kicks, you name it, he changed games single handley he destroyed teams with no help, he was incrediable. deny it all you want ill never agree with you.
Yes ronaldinho at his best was utter ****, clearly. But then again all your comments are always stupid stuff like that, that really dont add nothing to thread, you just start random conversations, but hey football is a game mainly based on opinion. I prefered watching ronaldinho done any other footballer in the world.
Dude the fact he couldn't sustain it proves my point that Ronaldinho wasn't as good as Zidane or Messi. And re-read my post where I QUOTED you .. you never mentioned anything about sustaining nowt !! I've had games where for 5 mins I was Maradona ... doesn't make me a top player. To be at the very top you have to be able to sustain it and Ronaldinho was never able to do that.
Gotta agree with Unbiased Opinion on this one. Players are always judged on what they have done right? Well what has Ronaldinho not won? He really has won the lot, add to that all the Joga Bonito from Nike and the huge influx of "street" and "freestyle" into the game probably and most likely came from him. His tricks led to a massive introduction to the street game and the freestylers of the world and made players also more creative, a scissors or step-over was just not good enough anymore. He did things on the field I really didn't think you could do" pass a ball off his back, control the ball on his chest and run with it, 40 yard balls played to him and a back heel right to a team-mate. He really did change the game in terms of skill that can be applied to a game. Go to footytube.com and have a look at all of the skills schools, skills this and that, and a majority of it comes from the fact that Ronaldinho put that out there and showed that these tricks could be done in games and to great effect. I still rate Ronaldo Fenomeno higher, but Ronaldinho at PSG and Barca was something to behold.
