As an English neutral (we do not have sectarianism in England):
I think Celtic should follow the Pope's example* and urge its followers to hand themselves in to the police for their historical sexual offences.

Birts basically admitting HE KNEW and you're trying to say Stein is a disgrace [emoji23] [emoji85]

 

I'm not trying to say Stein is a disgrace. I am saying Stein along with the rest of the Celtic hierarchy right up to the time Fergus McCann took over are a disgrace. I am also saying the authorities of the time, the police and judiciary were a disgrace because I have no doubt that they were informed by the likes of Birt and McSherry and others and chose to ignore it. We have seen it time and time again with the likes of Saville, Cyrill Smith etc etc etc how the forces of "law and order" reacted to claims of child abuse during the 50s,60s, 70s and 80s.

Hugh Birt said Jock Stein told him he kicked Torbett out. I can see no earthly reason to disbelieve him. Everything else he said was true. John McCluskey said the Celtic board knew what Torbett was. Again I see no reason to disbelieve him, everything else he said was true.

What reason do you want to put forward as to why we shouldn't believe them?

 

I couldn’t go to the police without actual proof of the allegations.

Sex abuse allegations have haunted Celtic Boys’ Club for almost a quarter of a century. A Record investigation has revealed Celtic’s board knew about the rumours 20 years ago.

The finger of suspicion was pointed at Torbett as long ago as the early 1970s. There were whispers that he molested 13 and 14-year-old players in his care. But the victims were too ashamed to admit they had been violated by someone they believed in, so they suffered in silence.

The Celtic board were aware of the rumours about Torbett, who was general manager of the boys’ club.
But only one man took him on. Jock Stein, who saw the youngsters as the lifeblood of the club, gave him his marching orders……..

Emm why didn't you put the bit where Jock Stein gave him his marching orders in your wee summary?

 

Here's the real summary folks...

Torbett, Bheast, started CBC as a means to prey on youngsters.

Jock Stein found out and kicked him out but kept stoom to save Celtic embarrassment .

Jock then appointed Hugh Birt as Chairman of CBC, the "separate entity" that had nothing to do with CFC.

Bheast Frank Cairney allowed Torbett back into CBC as a "fundraiser". Both bheasts then preyed on youngsters and when worried parents contacted Birt he took their concerns to Davie Hay and CFC chairmen Kevin Kelly who was also a business partner of Torbett's.

Birt was forced out and Bheast Cairney took over the mantle of Chairmen of CBC and he and Torbett had free reign to prey on youngsters.

Torbett was then brought to book when abuse victims finally chose to stand up and tell what happened. Bheast Torbett was convicted of abusing kids at CBC.

John Cullen was the next to be convicted after sexually explicit photos of children were found in the Celtic views official photographers store room within Celtic park.

Next up was Frank Cairney who was charged by US authorities for abusing a kid from CBC on a tour of the US. He walked free through lack of evidence but his tenure at CBC was over.

He was replaced by Bheast Gerry King.

And let's not forget former CBC coach and Celtic kit man Bheast Frank McCafferty who openly admitted to sexually abusing kids at Celtic park to Northern Ireland police.

I'm sure I have missed a couple out and I didn't include a certain ex club doctor who has a listing on the sex offenders register and who's daughter mysteriously disappeared but I haven't time to really get into it as I'm off out Xmas shopping.
