What is your favourite team you have ever seen? I don't mean a particular club, but a certain group of players that you loved to watch for whatever reason. Mine was the Dutch team of 2008, they consistently scored incredible goals and played the most exciting football I have ever seen. Some of their goals below.

To prevent boring answers you can't pick any team that comes from the club you support.

well this is an interesting question no doubt about it. It is on a par with asking about top 5 players which was done earleir today.

so here is a potential list.

    1. Milan late 80s- early 90s. Baresi, donadoni, rikjard, gullit, van basten, tassotti, maldini, rossi... now that was a good team!

    2. Liverpool 1988, it was good. deal with it, i can do what i want in my answers. <laugh>

    3. Arsenal 200-2004. I think with vieira, henry, bergkamp, overmars and others this team played not just pretty football but effective cutting football that won games and socred goals. wonderful goals.

    4. Barcelona in the guardiola era. Messi et al are simply joyful to watch.

    5. I think a case could be made for some other international teams such as france or brazil circa 200 to 2002 as well

Of the 5 i would go for watching barcelona from today, the comfortable, easy style of passing that is actually so quick is just perfect.

Possibly the finest single performance I have seen is the Barcalona team in the recent champions league final.

I enjoyed watching Mourinho's Inter in the champions league, as weird as it sounds.

From memory i'll go with Ajax '95. I remember watching them and thinking "wow, every player in that team is going to be special" and they all went on to massive things. They were the most complete team I remember and in my opinion are a better side then United '99 and possibly Barca '11

I don't agree. Messi is good to watch, the others just pass... pass... pass... pass... pass... it's rather boring if you watch it for any length of time. It's not dynamic enough for my liking, everything's measured and weighted, whereas Brazil 1982 as we saw in the video above was effortless, the touches and the positioning came without constant deliberation.

I was going to write exactly the same. Some orgasmic solidity from that team which I enjoyed far more than all this poncey 'passing'/'attacking'/'scoring goals' nonsense. In all seriousness though, that defensive show against Barca was easily as impressive as any swashbuckling attack-minded football I've seen.

I disagree with liverbird, I love watching the current Barca team. The way they control games and work hard for each other is amazing and then you get Messi as well.

Ajax 95 ( huge soft spot for Kanu, he was awesome for me)

Juventus from 95-97 ( Champions league final every year, winning one)

Early Rijkaard Barca with Ronaldinho in top gear and Eto'o became a name everyone knew.

Ferrari Boys Madrid ( right before the galacticos, with Seedorf, suker, etc)

Roma in early 2000's with Batigol, the f***ing man up top.

I was too young to catch them live, but the super depor team of the early 90's were awesome, almost broke up the Real-barca monopoly. Valencia in the Rafa era were awesome, hence the nickname the machine.

I completely agree. For me entertaining football has to have some element of risk, and keeping possession until the other team gets tired seems pretty pragmatic to me. Of course it shows excellent technical quality but I would prefer them to play at a higher tempo.
