all it is is a starting position.

salah mane and firmino don't really need one they go where they think best as play develops.

midfielders are slightly more structured in terms of who links left and right and getting in a good line. but one goes, then one stays.. same as last century. the thought that one just stays all the time is just a falicy.

you've got to be available for a pass. that's why I can't take Henderson. he stands in behind a forward most of the time unavailable for a pass.

 

I know it is not the Prem. but the Villa v Leeds game was a decent watch. Leeds came from 2-0 down to win 3-2

It sound very much like everyone is arguing the same point. Every player will have a role in the team, this will dictate your position and how you play.

I'll be honest MiTo, I'm not really to sure what your arguing about. Nobody things your more attacking midfielder should not defend, or that a defensive midfielder should not go forward, more that they have diffrdiff responsibilities that will fit in with there hopefully abilities.

 

Everton one up...should be two... not really a push there... as commentator said...if other way round ref would never give a pen for that.
