Irvine is probably worth a bit of dollar. We might field a few calls for Dan Batty if he keeps up his performances, but probably nothing concrete until Summer as he's unproven.

The fact that they've only got 6 months is worse, because clubs from abroad can offer pre contracts, and also clubs will offer less money for them because they haven't got long left.

Contract renewals are something else we're worryingly **** at.

Keane will do well somewhere else. He has ability, just the same as Dicko, Toral and a few others. I won't go on with the usual 'Nige' bashing today because I was impressed yesterday but the comments I made previously about Adkins coaching ability stand.

 

For those questioning why Campbell was taken off have a think about it .. he wa taken off at 3-1 game apparently won .. he was on a booking already yet because of his enthusiasm one mis timed challenge and we lose him for at least one game .. a winnable one at that .. i can see why people would have liked to have seen Dicko .. but tbh to Martin when he came on he did show some decent hold up and interlinking play. . Trouble is his confidence is shot in front of goal hence why he tried to place the late shot instead of putting his foot through it.

 

I think I read KG has a year and a half.

With rest who are up this year, isn't it probable we'll have the 1 year ext. option?

Problem being of course, it may be the prefered option to release a 'big' wage for free than keep a good player.

The team whose deluded fans sing We Are The Champions, Champions Of Europe are losing to a club which once actually were Champions Of Europe. If it stays that way it will round off an excellent weekend.

 

We might as well tie Marshall down. Henriksen and Campbell too. Mannion and Burton are interesting, neither seem close to usurping even Long's place on the bench, which is odd. I'd love to keep Evandro, but he just doesn't stay fit enough.

 

I honestly think they'll fall away in the second half of the new season with WBA, Norwich, Boro, Derby, Villa and Stoke taking them.

After that, I can forsee investment becomimng reduced and a normal-service being resumed.

You haven't mentioned Birmingham, NFFC or the Blunts. That's ten teams who act like Billy Big Bollox, and only 3 can go up.

Then you get 'the rest', the best of whom are DQPR, Bristol, Bburn and Swansea.

We need to be getting to the top of this 'best of the rest' group, so we need to make up about 9 points to do that.

Not impossible given our ongoing improvement.
