Close has a goal disallowed for offside as Pitman gets a deflection on the ball and the flag goes up

3-1 final score, no defence as Jack Ross has his first bad day at the office.

I very vaguely remember something about them distinguishing between a cynical foul and a genuine attempt to play the ball which went wrong, especially for keepers

There keeper did not have a save to make according to Benno, you cant blame the ref. for that.

Haway lads you should be used to being let down by now following safc don’t bank on a definite home win against Bradford until after the final whistle :emoticon-0148-yes:

This result has been coming for a while. It could be a blessing in disguise, coming just before the transfer window opening.

A bad day for Ross. Lets see how he responds.

No one's catching Pompey now either.

    Odd team selection, odd game.

We were the better team first half without really threatening, but their number 9 always had the making of Loovens before his Second half shambles.

Same big issues clear to see today: weak at CB, no big presence in midfield or up front.

Ronan Curtis, scorer of Pompey´s second goal.. From what I have seen, this player is the signing of the season and even at this level you can see he is a way better player than a League 1 player. I hope Pompey have slapped a 25 million fee on him.

Bad luck today, but I am sure you´ll be back on track next week. Just one question. Of your current squad, how many were there last season, or is it a complete re-vamp?

At half time we’d had 4 shots (2 on) they’d had 2 (0 on) their first 2 shots on target went in

I mean, they are theoretically 2 point a clear of us if we win games in hand, and haven’t been away to us or Luton.

I wouldn’t say they were that far over the horizon on the basis of today mate, I still think Barnsley are the closest to us, half a season left yet.

What, the same Benno who was wowing on about the good save their keeper made from Gooch in the first half after Watmore had intercepted the ball and played him in? You don’t want to put too much stock in Benno’s summarising fella. Disappointing result. Would like to see incident where their player stood on honeyman after the foul in first half as well as Loovens’ challenge for the pen.

Oh I'm not downbeat after today's result Nads. We've got 2 games in hand which I think we'll both win.

You need to include Luton as well. They're a strong outfit at home and they just keep quietly getting on with winning games.

Long way to go. Back to back home games will hopefully get us back on track and keep the pressure on Pompey and Luton - hopefully one of both crack. All teams will have a bad patch, hopefully ours is shorter than theirs.

Pretty sure I did mention Luton in there amigo ha. Luton deserve to go up for the bullshit that was handed down and nearly ruined them, but I think they’ll slow down.

Aye not to upset about today but I am genuinely bewildered by the team selection.

We need some mobility at the back and frankly we all know a defeat had been coming, we’ve got away with a few.

    Sharpen up and go again.

My apologies Marcus, I have just read through the game on the BBC website and Benno was wrong, <laugh> again, evidently we where in the game up to half time and going well, this was a bad result for us no doubt but its all to play for and we have got it in our sights to take an automatic spot. But we need to strengthen the team along the spine, Goalkeepers are fine but a Center Back is a priority, and if Maja goes which looks likely, another Center Forward will be required, imo we should be able to afford both at this level without too big an outlay, without this, we might be looking at a play-off place, which I would have taken at the start of the season tbh, but now I would be a little disappointed, because of our progress to date. <ok>
