    37/1

I laid a little off during the game, so ended up net £58.

Nobody let Mrs Onionman in on the secret, please. What happens on Not606 stays on Not606.

I think Romeu is feeling loved again. Good. Good hard working performance.

We'll beat West Ham. I'll miss Pierre though.

Yep, maybe certain players respond better to different bosses and if Ralph is happy with Rom and he keeps performing then that's great.

Every time he says that we seem to concede. I don't know why it is but his comments often seem to have unfortunate consequences. Sometimes I find it hard to listen to the away matches of the radio because he makes me seem nervous. However, I think we will be unfortunate to get dragged in to a relegation battle from now on. Just think we will move up the table and can start looking at the points totals of those teams above us now.

I just wish Redmond wasn't all show and no final product.

Not enough ref love this thread. That booking for simulation in the first half was simply superb.

He is getting his just deserts now, he has been very good all season and our most dangerous player.

He's still a fairly errant provider of finishes and final balls, and probably always will be. But this is how you use a Redmond: get them into space, where everything won't need to be inch-perfect and their pace and energy plays up. He will be a very productive player under Hasenhuttl.

Indeed, welcome back Ori and welcome back Maya, too.

Have to say I find them as what I think are two very good but unconventional examples of the players we have who are built to play forward-thinking football. So many of our players have been bought and conditioned to fit with 'The Southampton Way', and pieces of that philosophy got slowly shed as we sunk down the table, confidence fell away, and of course managers changed. You'd think with Romeu being our 'hard-man' midfield destroyer and Yoshida a centre-half that you could throw them in say a Mark Hughes team, which is looking to soak up pressure, and they'd fit the mould. But both have always played best on the front foot and had more trouble going back. Oriol is excellent at attacking the ball (and having the man in the firing line too) and is very hard to roll away from if a player is back-to-goal, he's neat in tight spaces and good at working the ball in short triangles. However when his feet are planted he can be slow to get going, especially to his weak side, tracking runners back towards his own goal is tough since if he's not touch tight there are many players that can escape him, and his passing over distance isn't much to write home about, he's not going to play a counter-attacking ball in behind but he can very much be a part of springing a fast move with quick play. And similarly Maya is best at playing tight and going after the ball, he does well in the air when he can attack it, but flat-footed marking a strong forward he's always had problems, and when back-pedaling he's often gotten twisted up by players who are handy on the ball.

Small things and might seem obvious but just I feel two quite good examples of just how much even the notion and philosophy of playing on the front foot can completely change the way players perform, not to mention the overall impact on team morale and focus.

What a difference Ralph has made in 17 days.

    He was awesome again today.

Fair play to him, he has turned it around completely from last season, looks like a real matchwinner now

I had a 1-3 Saints 2-0 Bournemouth double in a £1 Lucky 15 at 215/1, cashed it out for £94.57 and I don’t even care. It’s just so good to watch us play football again.
