Our record after our previous ten league wins: 4 draws, 6 losses. It's been a minute since we strung together a two-game winning streak.
Brilliant! If Obafemi could pass or shoot... haha... but he did take the goal well! Fab stuff. I like football again. It. Is. Official.
Back to back wins 6 goals in 2 games All our strikers scoring (nearly) Up to 16th 3 points clear of 18th. I ****ing love football!
Sorry Mrs Fats, I won't be downstairs tomorrow morning making your breakfast, I'll be beavering away on the West Ham Thread....
Have to say, Obafemi reminds me more than a little of another short, strong and lightning fast striker who debuted as a teenager, currently plying his trade in dark red and stripes. Finishing hasn't been good thus far, but suspect that is just nerves. Has a real knack for making the right runs and finding the right space; retreating a couple yards for the cut-back on the goal was really heady for a teenager. We're still Saints. We are light on talent in a few areas, and we're going to make some awful mistakes here and there, and we're going to lose some games we ought to have won along the way. But you can see the team we should have been all along, and what an indictment of our preceding three managers these past two matches have been.
Saints have won back-to-back games under Ralph Hasenhüttl, scoring three goals in each game. In the entirety of Mark Hughes' tenure, they failed to score three times in any game.
