Good Morning Everyone According to The Sun, Leeds are in the hunt to sign Huddersfield winger Rajiv Van La Parra. The 27-year-old has lost his regular starting spot for the Premier League side, and has been left out of the match day squad for seven of their last eight games. Huddersfield would want a figure in the region of £5million. Thoughts? Caleb Ekuban has rediscovered his shooting boots in Turkey. The Leeds loanee has now scored 5 times in 14 games for Turkish outfit Trabzonspor. A deal has been struck between the two teams at £99k Who has the better deal? Should we make the Premiership, which players would NOT be strong enough?
Morning all Firstly on the La Parra story I have posted some thoughts in the transfer sticky above. The Ekuban story must be either just paper talk or some not very welll researched story. For those who read the loan watch sticky every week you will already know that Ekuban hasn't even started a match, hasn't done 90 minutes for the club. He scored on his debut and then the goals dried up until 2 weeks ago when he scored 2 in 2. He sometimes doesn't even make the squad. So that was 3 goals in half a season. He got his first start for the club this week simply because it was a cup game against Port Vale equivalent, and he scored 2 of the 5 goals Trabz scored in their 5-0 win. 5 in 14 sounds ok doesnt it but reality is 3 in 13 sub appearances and not played in the other 8 games played. which makes it 3 in 21 for reality purposes. Sorry Ekuban needs to score goals and up to now hes having a nice holiday
Good morning That's a difficult question Matt I believe these players would be capable : Jansson - played at international level for Sweden Hernandez - class player played many games in La Liga & in the premiership for Swansea Klich - played in European first division leagues & made 15 appearances for Poland. Phillips - Kalvin has improved significantly under Bielsa, still think he will play for England one day Even Roofe, Ayling, Douglas & Cooper could be possibilities, then we have young players coming through who could be anything in the future Who'd have thought Wes Morgan would go onto win a premiership medal for Leicester ? I saw him play for Forest in the championship, at times he looked very dodgy Even Roofe, Ayling, Douglas & Cooper could be possibilities, then we have young players coming through who could be anything in the futur Who'd have thought Wes Morgan would go onto win a premiership medal for Leicester ? 64 I hoped we would go out and get Wes Morgan instead of trying to get Bartley again because I think he would have been brilliant alongside Pontus or Cooper. He seems to have lost a bit of bite now?
That's my point Doc some players improve beyond what you think they are capable of as Morgan did & you only have to look at our current bunch of players under Bielsa this season. Bartley can't even make the bench at West Brom of late
Going to be controversial and say that these players are not good enough for the premier league. Also thinking that you get more time before being whacked like you do in the Championship. Alioski, BPF, Cooper, Dallas, Nessy and Roberts
Morning all.. I didn't think half our squad was good enough for the Championship until Bielsa joined, at the start of last season under TC I wouldn't have cared less if Pablo had been sold or Klich under Heck, I'd have turned against any coach saying lets move on Saiz for peanuts so it just shows it is about the coach recognising a player who can fit the style he believes in. Like Coyle, he might be fantastic for another team but under Bielsa never fir in, Sol Bamba leaving us for Cardiff is another example of a player who needs the right manager and setup. I think moving on players like Ekuban could be vital in wage saving for a new signing or two, be it loan or permanent so the more we hear leaving early the better for us I feel.
Good morning all Definitely us,if that's all we had to pay for them to take him. Looking faward to sunday. Also what players not strong enough ? well first off i certainly wouldn't sign Huddersfield reject Rajiv Van La Parra,if not good enough for them,a team with no aspirations then certainly not good enough for Leeds, because when we get promoted we don't just wanna be another Huddersfield, fulham, cardiff etc. Mind you having said that it's quit staggering what a quality coach as in mr Bielsa can do with mr Joe average,As said before most of this team were not good enough last season, not only for the championship but maybe would have struggled a bit in league 1. When we get promoted Under Bielsa, the sky's the limit,as just think what he could do with quality players after proper funding, any new arrivals would have to be something special though,to oust any of the current team who are giving everything.
We’re as good as the bottom teams in the Prem now. Depends what your ambitions are as to how many if any are good enough. It is a different brand of football and some will be more suited than others. Doc I wouldn’t say there was much controversial in your list. I imagine most would agree and add a few more. Thing is, who knows what BPF will be looking like if he gets another half a season under his belt (IF)... he has the sweeper skills that everyone is looking for. Roberts is just a boy. Cooper looks a good player but drops the odd clanger, fewer this season... maybe he’d be just the same in the Prem.
Couple of things that Phil Hay should ask at todays prezzer Adam Lovatt was on trial this week and believe he has been on trial with Brighton, WBA want him and so do Palace. How did the trial go? Karanka has yesterday said that he will be busy in the transfer window with players coming in and some who need moving out. How busy will we be
Any players we sign now need to be able to make the step up to Premier league or be of PL quality, if LaParra isn't good enough for Hudds there, then it's likely he won't be good enough for us either ,if we get there, especially at £5m
Good news...the club have announced that the Blackburn match will be available to watch live online to UK subscribers via LUTV. Cost £10 in the UK and £5 outside UK. Just out of interest how many are willing to pay the £10 ? In my view it's the future and when I've subscribed have had no issues with the stream quality and have enjoyed all the build up and analysis. Well worth it in my opinion especially when you consider how much it costs to attend a match. Plus it's an opportunity to give money directly to your club and not to SKY for example...so what's not to like ?
This is a must for anyone needing to start a family argument on boxing day. The family will be round but dad will be watching in the spareroom or bedroom.. Puts a whole new meaning to boxing day.
I’d have no issues paying it but we’re round the daughters and a big family get together so although the cost is fine, the family backlash less so
