Agreed. But weirdly, though he’s one of our most consistent performers at a high level, because of Gunn I’d miss him less than others with the current set up.
I'd rather not do it mid-year, but wouldn't be terribly upset if McCarthy was sold at the end of the season. Keeping Gunn as a backup for an extended period is untenable; he's a young keeper with a bright future that we paid a substantial sum to acquire, and he isn't going to happily sit on a bench for 2-4 years. Usual caveats about actually reinvesting the money (and well) apply.
