Agreed. But it will strengthen their resolve to try and make sure they don't make a mistake again

They've all been defensive minded too. I think the fans would have been more patient had they had decent football to watch

Well they could. Best case scenario is that they appoint Poch and he continues to win **** all <ok>

He’s had decent money to spend already, but you can’t attract the next level players so you end up with the likes of Sissoko, Aurier and Llorente.

Players are interested in money first, look how they all flocked to Man City when the Sheikh’s took over. I don’t believe Levy will ever operate Spurs in that way.

He doesn’t have anything like the resources of City, Utd, Pool, or Chelsea at his disposal.

He’s done remarkably well considering his actual spend over his tenure is less than a Pogba!

He’s definitely done well, but adding £200m to his war chest for example won’t make an ounce of difference because he needs to bank to be busted open for wages as well and I don’t see Levy doing that.

United and City turn over around £600m and £500m respectively, there’s no chance that Spurs can compete with that sort of funding, how much do you lot turn over... £250m at a guess and you’re about to have more debt than United have.

Depends on what investment Levy manages to secure, which will go towards dictating what Poch would have at his disposal

Turnover will increase substantially once the new stadium is on stream. Probably not to Utd levels, but a lot closer to our other rivals.

Last figures I could find shows T/O at a bit over £300 mill, but with a profit of £50 mill. Only £7mill less than Utd’s declared profit,

City have a large turnover but don’t seem to actually make any money. But that’s no great hardship when you’ve got owners like theirs!

I thought stadium income was small in comparison to tv money nowadays?

Money isn't the answer it used to be. There is so much floating about it's turning "ordinary " players into ludicrous positions, while managers, good and bad , are trying to put together cohesive teams , and mainly failing.
100 mil Pogba, 70 mill here, 85 mill there, makes **** all difference. Ask Jose, who has won more than pretty much any Manager in modern history, (don't give me the " he's not good enough for Utd" bullshit.) Actually, he's too good for Utd, as he was for Chelsea. But the dopey clubs back players now, because they haven't a football brain on their board. I'm no big Jose fan, but he's **** loads better than Pochinetto who has won exactly nothing , and Sarri likewise.
PSG are rolling in it, win nothing except 2nd rate French League. Barca are going backwards, Real are imploding, Man City get rolled by Chelsea not too flash in PL, Utd ditto, Arsenal struggling, Chelsea hanging around and Italian teams a travesty of what they used to be. Then there's Bayern.
The times they are a changing.
There is NO direct co relation between money and success anymore except, without money you are nowhere, but with it, you might also be nowhere.
The same old same old managers do the rounds, but nothing changes. No one tries anything new.
Along comes Ranieri to Leicester, he buys a couple of "cheap" players and wins the PL . Why?

He inadvertatdly found himself with a rounded team of complimentary players who played as a team.
As long as the Neymars, Hazards, Mbappes, Pogba are cruising for more money, no team can dominate.
Money has ruined the game and will ruin many more teams in future than it improves.

It is for matchday revenue but the sponsorship can obviously be worth a lot and they'll make extra from NFL too.

I think you only need to look at the clubs who are always near the top of the league to see that that’s not true - except maybe in Spurs’ case - which is why Poch is sought after.

Would Pool be competing head to head with City without spending substantially last summer?

    Oh dear...

Poch and Alderweireld to Old Trafford?
Today's gossip column makes for grim reading for Spurs fans too.

There are several stories linking Mauricio Pochettino with the permanent manager's job at Manchester United... not only has Sir Alex Ferguson backed the Argentine to take over but Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld will be one of the main targets for United's caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January.

Think it's time for levy to look for pooches replacement. As sure as the sun sets everyday, Levy normally makes 1 good appointment followed by 1 **** one so maybe someone like pards is on the cards

City’s money comes from funding generated by sponsorship from their owners I’d imagine. Their brand will be growing year on year but they are genuinely nowhere near to being a huge brand like the Barca’s and Bayern’s of this game, despite us being told daily they’re a bigger club than us now.

Spurs have the potential to grow into a huge brand brand but I ain’t sure Levy could convince Poch to stay based on potential. Perhaps he will who knows?
