Happy but a bit amazed at the timing. something had to change and Jose was the easiest and most obvious choice, I didn't expect it until we were out of the CL though. Maybe the draw of PSG just about killed the thought of any chance of progressing in the clubs (Woodwards) mind. The caretaker manager has thrown me a bit but I like the idea of OGS, a true Red. It does give thought to the possibility we already have someone lined up who has obligations left to fill, who? ****ed if I know but I hope they get it right (or at least a lot better) this time. Never liked the idea of a DoF before but after seeing the complete disparity in our last 3 managers am starting to come round to the idea of someone with a modicum of football knowledge directing the style of play, players who will fit said style and manager who can implement it.
Lovren should be told to keep his trap shut, the jinxing tool. "Liverpool can go season unbeaten, says Dejan Lovren" https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46628537
I actually think PSG aren't all that and if your players decide to have an ounce of effort they can be beaten. Who do you want as next manager?
I really don't know at this point, we have gone for steady (Moyes), we have gone for the big names (LvG and Jose) now I just want a manager who has some idea what they are doing The guy at Dortmund is quietly doing good things
It is one of those things we think about but do not say publicly never mind shouting it over the rooftops. Having said that we’ve met most of the clubs now the danger matches obviously would be the City ones. I think Lovren should focus on winning the title I.e getting more points than any one else rather than going undefeated throughout the season. Being invincible and undefeated could be less tough than winning the title.
Imagine if we went unbeaten with the help of a few draws along the way but City despite losing a couple won more games in total and pipped us for the title.
I agree, I am pretty sure that although Arsenal went undefeated they still only have the 3rd (or maybe even 4th) best points total. EDIT............Correction, 6th best points total. Going undefeated is not all it's cracked up to be
I keep telling you all Utd WILL beat PSG Var will stop the fopping Once that has ended psg are fairly toothless I like cavanni and mbappe But neymar imho is totally overated Their league does not prepare them for the tough games at the business end of the season
This is not that far fetched. Draws are like defeats in our position. Unless they are against City. We could go undefeated to the end of the season by getting 21 draws. Big deal? No because with 66 points we’ll probably not even get into the Europa. We need wins, not draws.
Issue would be that OGS comes in for 6 months. He buys 2/3 players in Jan. then a new manager comes in and wants to buy another 4/5 players and possibly not want the ones brought in January. That’s where a DOF would be beneficial as they can buy the players with a long term plan in mind and then hire a manager that suits the players and style wanted. Otherwise it could well well be a wasted season and half
Said this the other day to someone at work. Would be our luck to go unbeaten and end up losing the title to city despite then losing more
What's long enough? As long as cheer leader at your club with the same trophy return and a worse average league finish having spent a lot more? Shut up dickhead...I'm not really wanting a reply.
for a manager on the way to the top 3 to 4 years is ample anywhere. Any longer and you risk it all going pear shaped. There's only so long players keep listening and improving. So there's your reasoned answer now **** off back to the rock you crawled out from under you stupid **** Clearly daring to suggest poch will leave spurs is a sore point for our spurs friends. must be really easy wind them up on this.
