Let's all chill lads. Have a feeling this storm will blow over sooner rather than later. For now, let's focus on beating the Goons tonight and go after some silverware.
One thing people have overlooked is that Man Utd haven't paid a penny in compensation for their last three managers Moyes' contract with Everton expired van Galling's contract with the Netherlands expired Steptonho was a free agent after getting sacked by Chelsea If the club really are more focused on servicing their debt (which begs the question why they hired the mardy egotist in the first place, given his reputation for developing agent's fees and nothing else) that's where it's more likely they'll be considering a Zidane, a Conte or a Blanc as that immediately halves the financial risk of hiring someone ill-suited for the club
Me neither. However in the event of departure, IMHO Pochettino is sufficiently professional to : 1. ensure he leaves with Spurs in the CL (unlike Arry 2012) 2. out of respect to the club not attempt to asset-strip the squad
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...tell-mauricio-pochettino-would-not-get-level/ A balanced and sensible view of the club, its finances and Mauricio Pochettino's place in it. The last four and a half years have been very much a partnership between him and Daniel Levy. The point regarding the DoF are well made. MP's convinced DL not to hire one, despite DL being very keen to do so. MP invests in people, in inter-personal relationships. He doesn't have an agent and nobody speaks for him. Nobody. If an article suggests that sources close to him have said something, then you know that it's bollocks. There is zero chance that he'd say anything to anyone outside his wife, children and Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Tony Jiminez, before he'd ok'd it with DL. It's why he feels so badly let down by Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and previously by Nabil Bentaleb. He went to bat for these players and they weren't loyal enough to repay him. DL has always backed him as far as he is able and if he says that the club can't afford to let him go, I don't see MP leaving, even if he really wanted to.
I understand the concern. We do, afterall, have a history of feeding Man U, however. Those days are OVER!! MOANinho has said more than once that he can't just grab our best players like Man U of old. How then does taking our best manager become possible? Poch himself has said that his time will end when Levy decides it. What on earth do Man U have that Levy wants in exchange for Pochettino? Or that Pochettino wants in exchange for Levy and the team / project? Levy knows that the minute he sells Pochettino, the entire team, and project, falls apart. Pochettino knows that he's found a good synergy with Levy and Tottenham. The whole reason there is a new stadium is to 'level' the playing field with the 'entitled ones' in the league and raise the expectations of the club. So far the plan is working, and before anyone expected it to. Levy is not gonna develop one of the most improved clubs in the PL era, build a new stadium, and then get rid of a successful man at the helm, right before the first full season. NO F-ING WAY. Levy will follow through to see just how far this thing can go. In Levy I trust. I Pochettino I trust. By the way, just to add, all this talk of Poch moving to a "team that can guarantee trophies", is media hype. I hear pundits say it all the time about our players and manager. Bafflingly, they all fail to acknowledge that we are becoming the team that will win trophies!!! What do these journalists think all of the investment and development is for??!??! Thing is, when we do win something, they will think of something else to say to cast aspersions on us. "We've only won it once", or if we win a domestic cup it'll be, "it's not the league". Bla bla bla!
Sky Bet exposed the mental gymnastics they have to go through on a daily basis just yesterday As I've said many, many times it's hilarious how the hacks and pundits crow about how great Norbert is - yet whenever there's a job opening at Barca, Los Ladrones or now Man Utd, they all seem to forget he exists and never mention his name in relation to those jobs, which exposes their rank hypocrisy to anyone paying attention
They don’t link Klopp but link Poch because the media see Liverpool as a top club but Spurs as a stepping stone.
Sky mentioning runner ups as if it’s anything to boast about. Although if they’re being that petty, they’ve missed out our runners up in the League Cup in Poch’s first season and also runners up in the Prem a couple years back.
I’d love to be sure that Poch won’t go to Man Utd but none of us can be certain. I agree with Spurlock that yesterday in his press conference he could have shut down the rumours with an emphatic statement saying he’s not interested in the Man Utd job, he didn’t and that will only fuel the hacks.
Depending on where his head’s at, not shutting down the rumours could possibly mean one of two things: Option A) He wants to go Utd so obviously won’t say no. Option B) He wants to stay but knows that remaining tight-lipped could mean extra funds in January as he’ll know the board wanna keep him and will thus look to significantly back him. If he’d have said “no, not interested, put it to bed”, Levy could then sleep easy at night, right now Levy may be thinking “**** me, better make sure he has a fantastic January”.
How the fek does one post a tweet? Micky Hazard @1MickyHazard Loving all this speculation surrounding Poch, just let’s us know how good our manager is, but get one thing straight, he’s Spurs and won’t be going anywhere, don’t read his refusal to talk about other clubs business as he could go, that’s just the gentleman he is, LOVE HIM X 9:46 AM · Dec 19, 2018 · Almost sussed it.
