    Forster without a doubt.

If we have £5m to spend, use it elsewhere.

Seems pointless buying Shankland if we cant use him until next Summer. He may not be good enough for the Prem if we manage to go up so a massive gamble. If I were Orta I would offer them Wilks to the end of the season as his loan is due to end this month. Wilks is better than most up there. Dont want another Scottish striker who fires blanks down here as we had recently. He does find the net though so worth a punt and will be cheaper than the strikers we have been linked with who also may not be able to score in this league

Honestly I don’t think that’s how it would work. Price paid and perm v loan will be irrelevant to bielsa.

He would prioritise 1 position over another but It will be ability and capability to play bielsa ball that he’s interested in.

He’s a squad focused guy and capacity to cover positions/injuries is his objective.

Calibre of player, Loan v buy, price paid and wages, length of contract, young v old, likely exit value etc. That’s all vic’s Problem.

Other than one random news site we’ve heard nothing to suggest that Saiz deal has a FIRM commitment to buy. He was out of the door really quickly... in a thrashed together deal.

I really don’t think we have any money, except what we’ve just saved on wages. If we had any money, Roofe, Klich and likely bpf would have new contracts by now.

Yeh it’s why you need scouts who can assess attributes not just count beans. There are guys who score hundreds in lower leagues but can’t replicate it at a higher standard... and others who are less prolific but can keep the strike rate up. Depends on the side they’re playing, the type of goal they’re scoring etc.

Never heard of this guy, it’s an amazing record... but it’s scotland’s Second tier.

Bit like all these guys with great records in Europe’s lower leagues. The success rate isn’t great. If this guy was the next ronaldo you’d imagine there was a sizeable queue and a sizeable price tag for his services.

But it does sound tempting as a punt... i’d Be a terrible chairman... can’t resist a potential bargain!!!

A couple of points regarding money and transfer window.

Bielsa has said he was happy with his squad but thought if a keeper became available who could fit our style of play it could happen. So for me that means we are getting a new keeper.

The second point is that Bielsa must now be worried about Brown breaking down, and could be problematic especially as he was the Saiz playmaker. I think it should mean we are now in the market. Even if we dont have the money Radz had better find some as we deffo need cover.

On a personal note I think we need a top striker, a top winger and a keeper

Afternoon all. I've made my feelings clear ormn Forrester plenty of times. I'd love him in. A creative midfielder to replace Saiz and defensive cover. Let's really go for it.

So we’re clear, i’m Talking about what i think is likely given finances.

What i’d like is a left footed direct winger, a forrestieri type 10, keeper and central defensive cover. I’d also quite like a target man striker for games where one would be useful... but given we have 3 strikers vying for one position i realise this is hardly a priority.

Given where we are in the league, and how unpredictable it is to think it would happen again any time soon, how big the prize is....if i were radz i’d be begging and robbing to invest in the team now, so there are no ‘if only’s’ come May.

Afternoon all....totally agree gessa, get foster on loan with option to buy if we get promoted. Use the 5m for a saiz replacement or a central defender.

If we're prioritising, we don't need a left footed direct winger, because we already have one...Harrison

He has shown in patches how good he can be, I'd be prepared to give him more time. At least he knows the system and is ready to step in, whereas a completely new player would need time to settle and adapt to what Bielsa needs, so probably wouldn't be available for the first team until maybe March

And if we're really really prioritising, we don't need to bring in another central defender. Just a no.10 and a keeper

My post was very poorly phrased Forza... I meant that my previous posts were talking about was what i was expecting given finances... ie a loan winger/10 and a loan keeper... what i then subsequently prattled on about was my personal wish list.

Maybe Harrison needs more time, but while he has good feet, he doesn’t seem the type to run at defenders... or if he does I haven’t noticed much of it... seems more of an Alioski like for like to me.

But yeh the problem with any signing in January from MBs perspective is how much of a stickler he is for fitness and knowing the system.

Cooper back in training - official LUFC video release. No details given, though.

Stunned that he's at this stage so soon after an operation. Personally, I'd still be in bed with beer & The Beano, squealing like a hog! :)

Forza Harrison has been fantastic for the U23s in the last week so he needs another chance. I would agree with your view unless the winger or player ahs played for Bielsa so will know the ropes and whats expected. Ibai Gomez please as he fills the Saiz void too

I agree, if we only sign one outfield player in January Gomez fits the bill perfectly

He does fit the bill. But then I look at where he’s at and what he’s doing now... and wonder why?

Why would he come (man crush on bielsa aside), why would his club want him to come, how much would he cost?

Hey I couldn’t see us getting Barry Douglas either.

My missus is anything but poor (I am <wah>), and The Beano is my pet pig, hence the squealing to communicate. He's very fond of beer too, unlike the wife. :(

Love the transfer rumors but FFS this is brilliant and hope it comes off as it seems Radz is really going for it afterall

The only thing I would say is how many chances do you give these players? I can only go by what I read and Harrison has probably sounded the best of the bunch when not playing for the first team but can't produce the goods consistently enough when selected to play for the first team

Had a nerd moment and thought I'd plot our cumulative progress towards automatic promotion vs. the teams that finished either 1st or 2nd over the last 3 seasons. You can see we started to tail off between games 8 and 13 (roughly). Think we have done well given our injuries which have hit just about every first team player. Does, I think show how we need to pick up a bit, possibly adding some quality cover or first team regulars in the January window.

This one is how we fair against those teams who finished 3rd in the last three seasons:
