They are taking a huge risk with the idea of an interim manager - they are clearly writing off this season and the malcontents at the club know it. They cannot do anything in the transfer window either in or out which is just going to ensure that they slip even further behind. They are also ignoring the fact that Real Madrid essentially have an interim manager in place also (I know he was made permanent but that's only because Spanish rules insist on it - he will need to win the Champions league to have any chance of being kept on) and they are going to get first pick unless it's Zidane. They are supposedly the biggest club in the world and they are acting like SAFC!!
So they're just going to let the same attitude continue till the end of the season? Why bother sacking him? Doesn't wash - they should have someone in who will make them realise IMO and get them playing.
I think Solksjaer (Sp?) will do that though - if they didn;t like Mourinho (which looked obvious to me) then they may need someone to just come in and take the reigns for a bit who has some kudos through the club and fans. Have no idea all in all but I think it'll probably work and I doubt that the players will have the same attitude with him
I expect the players to play much better now that the perceived poison (that's certainly how I view him) has gone. The negativity and depression has been removed and I expect somebody from within to say 'let's be 'United again'
Poch is beyond perfect for them. I can see them saying £30 for Poch, £150m for Kane and then find a top top defender to steady them at the back and suddenly they are looking much better (easy top 4, pushing for title in a couple of years).
It could well be that the days of MU being an automatic top four Club are over. It was easy enough when their financial clout meant that they could buy the best players in the World with only Real Madrid and Barcelona as competitors. However in the Prem, first Chelsea the Man City challenged them. Now others are trying to shove them aside. In terms of income and the 'Fair Play Rules' this shouldn't be possible but MU are carrying the weight of the interest payments from the Glaziers Takeover, and with the increased competition, this matters. In addition other 'big spenders' have appeared on the international scene. The Chinese in general. The German League has woken up and PSG seems to have the funds of a small, oil rich, country. All this adds to difficulty in attracting 'The Best'. It seems that there is also unrest at the lack of youngsters coming through their Academy. Their model has been copied by so many Clubs that MU can no longer be guaranteed to get the pick of the crop. Their Fans however don't seen to get this. But you can bet that their Fans will expect to be Champions every year. We have seen that all of the Mangers since Ferguson have had one thing in common. They have Failed to get The Club to bring in The Players THEY wanted. Think back to Moyse. He got shafted by their refusal to back him. Now Mo has received similar treatment though he was given new player's, they just weren't the ones he asked for. MU is now being run by 'The Suits'. But one thing WILL stay the same. As ever The Manager will carrying the can. The job continues to be poisoned chalice.
