Although I am always pleased to see players like Bobby get the opportunity to move onwards and upwards I often wonder whether they have realized the task ahead. The step up in the quality needed to survive at that level is quite often a difficult transformation and it would seem that Bobby has failed to match that demand and I hope he is not too devastated by the comments in the blog. One of the comments appears to indicate that he was bought too soon and perhaps he should have spent another season with us in the Championship. This begs the obvious question as to whether we would be doing better, especially in the scoring department, with Bobby still at Ashton Gate or did his ego get the better of him?

we have the modern scourge of the unscrupulous agent ... there is now probably double the number of players in the 8 main divisions of the football leagues [than 20 - 25 years ago ] .... brought about mainly by more money at the top [prem] that come from abroad!.. This means home bred players are rarely breaking into the top echelon of English football. So any opportunity to do so becomes a branch to be grabbed as the waters rise! Cardiff's wage bill is supposedly £40m less than greatest number of fellow teams, so Unlikely Bobby gets £50k a week! ..... Most footballers nowadays 90%? + hang up their boots then have to go find a job ... not in football! If you are a fringe player on say £20 a week if take your opportunities and invest in your future then life should be ok .... Bobby, Joe and Aden pretty much repaid us for our time bringing them on ... none have set the present on fire! Cardiff and Fulham could be championship next season and join Middsbro

Jens Hegeler leaves City Wednesday, December 19th 2018 Jens Hegeler today left City by mutual consent. The German defender has made 17 starts for the Robins and five as a substitute since joining in January 2017. Head Coach Lee Johnson said: “Jens has been a fantastic personality about the place from day one and he is a highly intelligent footballer and human being. "I believe he is going to take some time out from playing to concentrate on his football analytics business Impect and we wish him well in that venture. "Jens will always be welcome at Bristol City, whether at matches or just to pop in and see us at the training ground.” https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/jens-hegeler-leaves-city/
Another waste of money by the club. Someone should be sacked the amount of money wasted on poor signings is unbelievable.
I wonder who you are talking about RR and I too feel miffed by the monies we have spent only to see some of that investment wander off elsewhere. If you are indeed spending money to rebuild a squad for the long term it seems senseless to me to then allow them to leave so soon after joining, although I know the reasons for the departures were well spoken about by Lee I still question some of those choices.

I'm not so sure we are looking in the right places to boost our squad and perhaps some of these supposed may very well come good, but when I see we are yet again looking at players that have moved around a little in the lower leagues I have my doubts that they can up their game, or even ours, to move us forward. It's always going to be fine balance between so called proven performers, at higher prices, and up and comers and I'm glad I don't have to make those decisions. Which route do you think we should go because as usual we are looking at our future fortunes?

Do you think Heaton would come back or was there any nonsense when he left? I can't honestly remember him causing any problems but to be honest turning back the pages quite often doesn't work out well, but we'll have to wait and see.
