Don't let Doc read your Orta comment,he will burst a blood vessel.Starting to think the same about brown as well, read a report saying he was rubbish before he went off as well. Our season could rest on us getting a new creative midfielder.
Don't think he would work there myself with too many big egos, but, probably wont stop them putting him on the short list.
I agree. It’s odd but I don’t know he’d want it. Not while we are tracking to go up, anyway. If he did I’d be hoping we considered one of his team to take over as they would continue the same approach. What would kill us would someone coming in with a different style st this time. But I don’t think it will be necessary, oddly enough.
Bielsa won't leave now as he's far too principled for that to happen. However as daft as it seems his time with us is already running down as I wouldn't expect more than 3 years from him. If we don't achieve promotion this season then there is a fair chance he might not be here next season. Nothing particularly unusual in that as it's the same with managers and players the world over but in this particular instance it doesn't bear thinking about. Nothing is ever reported about his family life and how he is coping with working in a foreign country with a different language to learn/deal with. It seems he has thrown himself wholeheartedly into the job of resurrecting us as a club but I'd be surprised if that does not come at a significant personal cost to himself and his loved ones.
Wake up you lazy mod and try reading the contributions before posting your twitterati style one liners.
Personally i think that ferret face Giggs should be appointed, guaranteed bottom half of the Prem, gaps to appear in the stands, turmoil in the changing room with Pogba telling him who to pick..............................HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!!!
I’m less worried who Man U approach, it’s the knock on of where it ends, if Spurs lost Pochettino who would they appoint and so it would continue.
As everyone knows I am the most knowledgable poster on here when it comes to footy, so follow me and win big at the bookies. Just put a grand on Hockaday as he’s available now, get in there .
Some food for thought there Jammy I wondered the other day how long it would be before Bielsa learnt a little English, maybe you’re right, he sees us a challenge and project and when it’s complete he’ll move back to warmer climates, maybe he has no intention of learning the lingo as it’s going to be job done and move on. I’d imagine he would like a season in the PL but maybe a season of less expectations and less pressure so staying with us and completing what he has started might be more important to him.
Yep thought this was a Leeds board but some seem more interested in discussing some other team from across the pennines.
Friend of mine who is a big Villa fan has offered me his brothers ticket to sit with him in the Holte End, had to decline, as i explained that i wouldnt be able to contain myself when we score and take the 3pts
So we're 6 points clear of third place and for once things on the field seem to be going our way...the odd decision in our favour and penalty saves etc. But what struck me the most recently is how assured in possession we are at the back compared to the other teams around us. Bielsa has enabled us to do this by really making the pitch as large as possible in our defensive half whist keeping our attacking players high up the pitch. Because the distances between our defenders are so great, any closing down from the opposition requires significantly more effort which eventually takes it's toll as the match wears on. The part BPF plays in all of this cannot be underestimated as he's comfortable receiving the ball in areas of the pitch most goalkeepers wouldn't want to venture into. That ability to act as an auxiliary defender and be calm as we retain possession across the back line or out into midfield is absolutely key. What we've also seen since Forshaw came back into the side is a lessening of our intensity or tempo at times but the payback has been having more control over the match. The downside is that our play is generally a bit slower but so far it's working as we're winning matches by the odd goal as we try to concede less chances by dominating the ball. The improvement still to come from this side is in marrying that early season high tempo passing game with the new found controlled possession. I'm sure it's something we're working on all the time in training as Bielsa continues to tweak our style and encourages the players to improve to the next level.
