Does anyone on here support Scotland, Wales, N Ireland or the Republic?

I just cannot see it myself? The flack that the English get from these Celtic fringe supporters riles me intensely. Considering that about half of Ireland (both North & the Republic) 'support' Man Utd and the other half Liverpool, how come they get the knives out for the national team.

And who wants Andy Murray to win a Grand Slam after his comments on the English football team?

I wish Scotland, Wales et al everything that their supporters wish us.....in spades.

Or is this nothing to do with the Horns?

I have no sentiment for the Scots, though I guess I'm happier for them to win than others outside the British Isles.

I have Irish and Welsh blood so......they have a soft spot :)

Horrible penalty decision, yes - but I haven't heard Darren Fletcher put his hand up to his mistake 5 seconds before it when he gave the ball away in his own penalty area. Yet he has the cheek to pass opinion on the referee in public.

Being a Scottish Aussie, I tend to follow Scotland before England, but feel that is only natural. And as it's only natural, I don't see why people cant express their opinion on other countries without raising hackles.

I've no affinity at all for the Taffs or Irish, unless of course they have a Watford player in their ranks.

I support the 'home nations' whenever they are not playing England... although do enjoy the banter with mates, as have a few Scottish, Irish and Welsh mates.

I 'supported' the others more years ago, but realising how much some dislike us, I think it has watered down my support for them. I don't get the hatred towards the English though... so I just tell them it's just jealousy, which winds them up a bit more ;)

I do have a bit of Scottish and Irish blood in me, so will always cheer them on over Wales too.

Skip to 1:30 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG-PFbXgrMk. He explains it was said in good humour after an English journalist made a joke out of Scotland not being in the world cup.

If (for argument's sake) Jenson Button were to come out today and say a similar thing about Scotland, jokingly or otherwise, there would be a good half a million burning effergies of him over the next week or so.

I dont really support any of them seeing as i maintain that i am English not brittish. However, i would rather see Andy Murray win at Wimbledon which is the English Grand Slam than Nadal. Although i do like to see the Irish do well.

I never wish any of them ill will, if anything I would prefer to see them do well. I think the whole anti-English thing is just a bit childish and would never lower myself to the level of those who seem to revel in it. It must be frustrating that England are their biggest rivals but we are more focused on rivalries with France, Germany and Argentina. We haven't even sold out Wembley for the Wales game!

Also, its not often you have an old friend and ex-teammate who plays international football so while Mackail-Smith is playing i'm happy to see Scotland so well.

I'm half Irish, so I do like to see the Republic do well.

    I support Watford...that is enough.

BTW - Murray seems to forget about the comment he made about wearing the shirt of another country England were playing. I wish he would man up and have the balls to stand by his comments instead of creeping around the hacks saying he was misquoted..

    Because we invented the game!

This is the usual problem with foreigners not understanding that the UK is one kingdom but 4 countries (if you allow that N. Ireland is a country, which many do not).

My neighbour thinks that Scotland and Wales are counties and not countries. Despite being told now several times the truth, she still fails to understand that as they are all part of the same land mass they can be different.
