Jurgen Klopp's German football knowledge can give Liverpool edge over Bayern Munich, says Ian Rush https://www.skysports.com/football/...verpool-edge-over-bayern-munich-says-ian-rush
I am delighted that we got Bayern. Only Porto would have been better. I am confident that, even if Bayern are back to their best in February, the Klopp factor will see us through.
Can't call Our game. We've a chance. Real will cake walk it. Roma... maybe. its a hard one, maybe just down to who starts best in one of the games. Barca will walk it. Dortmund should kick 7 shade of **** out of spurs. Spurs have frozen too many times for me... Dortmund can last the pace spurs set as well. TBH having seesn PSG and utd.. PSg are a bit better but not wonderful. Utd cannot defend so thats the issue. PSG for me. I agree on atletico. its a tight one. City by 4 goals. QF? Who knows.
I think we underestimate Porto. I can see them reaching the semi. They will beat a very ordinary Roma, and let´s say they pull either Ajax or an unconvincing Real, who knows.
I think it is to your advantage to play at home first. Say you win 1-0, then Bayern need to score two without conceeding. Given that your team are capable of striking on the counter, I´d say you hold the psychological advantage. In Bayern´s favour is the vast experience they have harnessed
It's a good point that if the second leg is a high scoring affair then that suits Liverpool but they've been dogshit away im Europe so far and Virgil will be a huge loss for the first game too. Really intriguing and tough to call tie imo.
It’s always an advantage to play at home in the second leg, hence the new seeding rule.... As you know what you’ve got to do, with home aupport behind you and potentially ET as well.
When we played Roma last season, first leg was at home, fortunately we scored many goals. Second leg away they won, we went through on goal difference.
Though you could argue thay et suits an away side as any goal is basically a winner. I do tend to agree that it's an advantage to be home second mind.
See - I always think that once it goes to extra time it’s an advantage to be the away side If you get to extra time it means that you are level so any goal you score in extra time the opposition has to score double and you get extra 30mins with tired legs and minds So even if you concede you still have hope
United cannot do without champion league football, the way it is going Jose Mourinho needs to win the champion league for united to play Champion league football next season.
Suppose, but you could balance that off with the home support giving the home side a lift. Dem famuz yurrropean nightz and all that mate
Home or away first is swings and roundabouts. The power of the away goal is king. If you are home first you seek a lead If you are away first you seek away goal and not lose.
