Also Ben Marshall. Who is a class little player at this level. But I bet we pay his wages to play for Ipswich for the rest of the season. Edit: By the way, Vaulks is a decent Midfielder. I think we have about 5 better players in his position already at the club though.
Not a great replacement. I'd rather Thompson, Godfrey and Trybull. They are already here, and better.
Thompson might well be the new Jarvis, it doesn't look like we can rely on him. Godfrey is preferred at CB, and I don't think Trybull is the right kind of DM to replace Tettey in our current system. I don't think we'd be comfortable right now if Tettey was out for a couple of months. We have too many midfielders, but Vaulks fits the Webber mould. Sensible age, versatile, and out of contract soon, so we wouldn't be held to ransom. It would only make sense if we have plans to shift others on.
If we can finally get rid of the dead wood that has hung around for about the last 2 or 3 seasons, then maybe.
I think we've got a few contracts finishing up this May coming - Naismith and Jarvis which will simply be salary savings (kerr-ching), then we've got Pinto and McGovern which will realistically need to be replaced plus Klose's contract still hanging out there which I'm sure most will be hoping is renewed. Any others I missed?
