Watched Brooklyn last night with one of my favourite actresses, Saoirse Ronan.

Very good film. Also had Julie Walters in it, another of my favourites.

Had a chuckle to myself as one of the lines that Saoirse said was "why don't they just go home?" referring to Irish Immigrants that were not getting anywhere in good old USA. Shouldn't have laughed really but just couldn't help thinking of certain peopleoids on here :emoticon-0176-smoke

Loved the dances for 'The Irish' in the fillum.

Brooklyn (The Heights and Prospect Park) are my favourite part of New York City.

She is an extremely talented actor and still only 24!

I have yet to see Atonement which I have heard is very good. My Dad has read the book and said it was excellent.

I've never been to America but I've been in some ****ing states.

For me Brooklyn is a better movie than Atonement however James McAvoy pretty good in the latter. I see that Saoirse Ronan plays the good looking one in the new movie about Mary Queen of Scots.

Been to the USA a few times but not since my Mum gave up the touring; too expensive to pay for a room with two double beds if you are on your tod. Had some pretty good laughs in Boston/Cape Cod, Chicago and NYC however Germany is much better. I don't think, or cannae remember, having been sober on a holiday unless you count the last few 'dry-oot' days so that you are allowed on your flight home!

If you liked that you should watch In America with Paddy Considine, another very good actor.
    BTW Atonement is worth watching.

She is but Julie Andrews would have got the message too. I'd give her a spoonful of something to help the medicine go down.
