Doesn’t sound very interesting mate. If it works though, then every country in the world should adopt the same system.

    You mean social care?

I listened to an ex Serviceman on the radio the other week talking about his experience. He was struggling mentally and decided to seek help. The waiting time to see a trained counsellor was about 4 months.

It all comes back to the same point. Cuts in public services.

The most important thing i think is central government needs to be building small 1 bed and 2 bed council housing for people and stop selling off council stock.

Instead their too busy dicking around and handing over social housing to housing associations which is as good as giving it to the private sector.

I'm not actually against UC (theoretically). Where it's ****e is that people aren't being paid it on time/delays. What they should be doing is doling it out and then stopping it when someone doesn't make the mark rather than stopping it being given until someone meets the criteria.

It'll be interesting to see what corbyn does (and whether he bankrupts us) but, energy/water/housing/transport and food are basic requirements and i would be more than happy to see this **** re-nationalised.

Officially there are no homeless people in North Korea or Jordan (Katie Price).

That's not right, mate. I was diagnosed with my mental health condition in 2004. I needed to wait a couple months to get help. Waiting times have always been there but listening to everybody the waiting times are becoming progressively longer.

No government has dealt with these services properly. At the same time, I also appreciate mental health is only just coming to the fore and accepted in society.

I agree it’s always been an issue that’s been misunderstood by many in our society, including employers, and it’s probably always been under resourced. The issue is that it’s now become worse - due to cuts in social care budgets. As need has increased the budget and therefore resource available has reduced.

UK were looking into it last I heard

As I said to archers they did away with the role ofrole of NGOs, which was a huge obstacle as I understand it

I find that interesting because it feels that the job of keeping a job is more important than helping the target of NGOs.

    Yeah and more

In your example the fella was able to ask for help but many don't. They end up in prison in alarming numbers and homeless

My point is that just giving them a roof won't resolve their underlying issues as they struggle to cope

I agree 100% that cuts are majorly to blame

Tbf that is exactly what would happen to me if I lost my job and didn't find something within a month or so.

It's not just mental health when it comes to time delays.

When I was working a drug addict wishing to go clean was waiting 6 months before getting help to stage one of the "healing" process

It was literally quicker to commit a crime, get caught, go to prison and get help immediately. Many did just that

Just to widen the debate what about social/personal/community responsibility?

What I mean here is the huge obstacle of NIMBY when it comes to setting up a drug and alcohol refuge etc

I have seen protests at every stage when it comes to converting old churches, houses etc for these purposes

This is another service being abused by the something for nothing brigade. I've sat in centres where people having been giving it the nudge nudge wink wink about them just doing it to get dla benefits. I've been in groups of lads who talk about how that's all they have to do for benefits. The system is being abused left right and centre. If we could filter them out, we'd have enough staff to manage it properly.

It pisses me off as I actually need the help and I've resisted the benefit life with everything I've got. I could have a cushy life doing **** all if I wanted it.

The something for nothing brigade is killing this country. We've become to soft and made it to easy not to work.

Unfortunately you always get people who take the piss and I do believe this who "play the game" can get access to resources that don't get to those most in need

In some cases it's a fine line depending on which side of the fence you fall on. From a kid with hearing issues "deserving" an ipad air to the kid sent on holiday because he was good for a week whilst being a **** for the rest of the year.

All money that could be better used in my opinion.

unfortunately thats life. Its where you fall on the side of the fence. Just like there will always be racists, ****s and knobheads, there will always be fraudsters and con artists.

If you're like archers and other lefties:

the fact that theres wastage (huge or not) doesn't matter as you are helping the genuinely needy and thats the most important thing. Not one human should be left behind.

Otherwise you're a centrist probably think of the risk/reward (odd saying that with human life) as you want the benefits to help appropriately, but you don't want benefits dolled out like candy

If you're batshit mental like rees-mogg or saxton then **** the proles, they should help themselves (which some do by being thieves)

I should clarify that by saying 'could' rather than would. I'd find another job.

i'm not sure being @Skylarker tour guide counts as a job mate.

Nor is the payment in booze and drugs classed as an income

I'd say I'm centrist then. I have a major issue with lazy bastards getting a free ride and I can't just ignore it because I get my help.

Anyway, how you holding up about Windies? You ok hun?

He'll be back in the next few days. Keep the faith
