I have just seen a clip that confirms how clever Mane can be. At the time I wasn't sure who did it but he pushed Lukaku into an offside position during that free kick that went in. We kept our defensive line flat and it was easy to play him off with that push. Quick thinking though I do not know how VAR will interpret that in the future.

Seen that this morning too. Could be a penalty with VAR.

I dunno. it depends on 2 things

a) was ball in play
b) were we "warned"

some refs "warn" teams no more pushing and then don't even give the pen.

If the ball wasn't in play when push occurred the question must be.. is it a foul.

VAR also gives us a penalty for studs in the box on Lovren

We were also fortunate in the first half that Rashford was a pussy. If he'd stick his head like the should have the ref could have giving a penalty against Bobby for a high foot.

Neither a or b matter. He pushed at a time to effect the opportunity and gain an advantage. The ref doesn't need to warn players, they shouod know the rules.

just to be clear. if anyone wants to watch back the full game not highlights and review watch fabinho from 65mins.

he was struggling to get back in but he did have the brains to know it and sat in and passed it. that's the kind of thing that means more than someone doing a smasher of a challenge or making a Hollywood 50 yard cross field pass to the full back who then has to lay it back to a cb.

So he didn’t run out of steam, he just sat in front to protect the lead and didn’t run around like a headless chicken?

High foot is an indirect free kick not a penalty.

Aye
But is that a good or a bad thing ?

If we win over longer term its a good thing but for pure entertainment on a weekly basis? Ask greez or saint.

We beat utd. It wasn't a classic imo like the sky types would have us believe but it was a decent game.

There were a lot of extremely pissed off Mancs in the Grange and the Cheese last night. It was ****ing wonderful <laugh>
Same here at work
Had comments like
Football is **** atm - City have ruined it with all their spending
The amount that are taking up cycling is hilarious.
Tbf it mirrors their board it is shocking how many have disappeared
I don’t mean the likes of Diego - who Tbf has tried but it the others
Not that I blame them but I am sure I would be around more
Not as much but defo more than most of their guys
Think the match thread was at 3 pages !
