You say fails - I say gambles. Apart from De Bock who was not given a real opportunity, the others are cheap deals to temporarily fill slots. Many of these players will probably come good in the next season or two like Ideguchi, Pennington, Baker and Grot
Why wait for them to come good in the next season or two when we already have better talent from within the u23s? Shackleton is better than both Ideguchi and Baker, Clarke is better than Grot, and Halme is better than Pennington
De Bock couldn't defend,which made him useless as a left back,that's never going to change at his age.
Halme and Clarke were both brought in by Orta and Cibicki is a wanted man after a good loan spell in Norway another badly managed by previous managers
Is it ground hog day or did you say this about Clarke last week too doc? He’s from York and was with the academy way before Orta popped up. As for cibicki ‘good spell in norway’. It’s a bit like ‘played in goal for the army’. I’m not saying he can’t play but mb didn’t want him on the retained list. Halme you've Been banging the drum for since he signed and the lad did well in his couple of appearances, so fingers crossed we have a good prospect there.
Milky Orta signed him makes no difference when he landed at the academy. Man City were chasing him too so less of the semantics please. Orta also signed Strjuik, Haugland and a few more top kids like Dalby
