This season will be decided on odd points here or there and yesterday they went the way of Leeds. I'm just enjoying the ups and downs of the fight for the top two places.
I defy ANYONE, who after our defeat by Leeds (which I still maintain was a bit lucky in that a Leeds' defender stopped a certain JR goal when the score was 0-1), we have amassed the following - Points- 36 (6 MORE than the MIGHTY Leeds, who have had injury problems!!!) GF - 30 GA - 14 #youdothemaths
I am really pleased that JR was genuinely offside. I would have been gutted if it had been wrongly marked off
Tettey seems more comfortable with Leitner as his partner.Return of ML will smooth his troubled waters
Well, Tettey lost the ball, but it was a long way from the goal and many others could have done more to prevent it. I thought all four goals were well taken in a hard fought game. Credit to both sides. Krul made some great saves as well and got a hand to one of theirs at full stretch.
Agreed Rick, but surely as he knew it was approaching half time, the sensible thing was just to boot it upfield, or out for a throw.
I agree. Vrancic has considerable skills, but Leitner has the ability to be in the right place to provide an outlet for a player under pressure. Tettey was double teamed without anywhere to play the ball. He could have done better, but it wasn't all his fault.
Seems like the team were suffering from a virus that swept through the camp. Could explain why they looked like they running through treacle.
I think for me the second goal was more of a concern than the first, in that the attack came from an unforced error from our free kick in their half.
City U23s playing Sunderland at Colney tonight, with McLean, Hanley and McGovern the senior players involved. Currently halftime with Spyrou having put City 1-0 ahead just before the break. Text commentary here: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...norwich-city-u23s-v-sunderland-u23s-1-5822110
Ends 1-1 amidst controversy as City have a goal disallowed in injury time. Their keeper clattered Spyrou and the Scilly puts it in the top corner. After consultation with the assistant, ref disallows the goal to a chorus of boos from the crowd (probably including JMF!). McLean put in a sparkling 73 minutes and had a part in the first half goal. Hanley played the whole game, as did McGovern. Idah came on as sub.
