He failed to track the scorer for their first goal too but today is about the positives.

I thought bringing Tyreke on was a brave move, he has a lot of pace and Arsenal needed to keep players back so that they weren't caught on the break. I wonder if they had done their homework on him? I know it will do him the world of good, he can boast that he played in a side that beat the Arsenal!

Yep. We've just beaten a team who haven't lost in 4 months. Ings with 2 goals after being put for the last 5 matches. Shane with a brilliant assist. And Ralph running about like a madman and having to be warned by the referee for his celebrations. <laugh>

How lovely it was to watch the Saints of old........Once again unpredictable.......Yes we made bad mistakes at times but we recovered very well. I felt we were the weakest on the flanks. Valery especially was caught in noman's land several times especially for the pass before the 1st goal...he was ball watching instead of reading the game. Targett on the other hand at times was very slow with his thinking. Whether that was rustiness I don't know. I felt there were times he was expected to overlap but didn't do so. Yet when he decided he would over lap he caused quite a few problems, and not forgetting an assist to boot.......
I will be interested to see why the goal was disallowed. It must have been tight although all the pundits are saying it was the right decision. Maybe at last we have a manager who has a bit of luck as well as skill.......now wouldn't that be nice for a change??

It was clearly offside Beddy. About a yard off.

Ok I was just in front and to the left so couldn't really see.He seemed to be behind the ball when the corner was kicked....it was a good save from the goal keeper from the first header. I didn't have my eye on the scorer more the ball........

Well you can't be offside direct from a corner. But Long was offside when Yoshida headed the ball.

Although there were already signs in the Man Utd game of an improvement in Saints' performance but I think today felt like of a return to the Saints of old. This is the best atmosphere I have seen at st Mary's since the days of Koeman. If we had lost today, I think the confidence would have crashed and we would struggle for the balance of the season. It was a game we had to win. As things turned out, this was a brilliant performance and a fine platform from which to rebuild the season. I think we will start to pull clear having witnessed today's excellent performance. Watch out Palace and Toon.

Tough on Danny but it's well deserved, he was excellent and worked well with Maya and Jannick.
