    But my Web cam wont work and i have to open the netbook in safe mode which disables the sound driver. It does come up with a blue screen scrolls through a load of text then dumps something and shuts down, if that helps Norway.

    I have an ex work colleague who is ace at computer snags can ring him tomorrow but need to know whats gone wrong what the laptop is etc!

    well the full course name is called BTEC extended Diploma for IT practitioners Level 3, i'm in the second and final year of it and had a choice of the software route or networking route. I decided on networking :)

    Well it started with the screen going blue and it saying it is shutting down to prevent any harm. Then it dumps info and restarts normally. Now it will start up and just freeze. I cant start programs, but i can start my anti-virus but that stops half way through the scan and the screen goes blue. I can start it in safe mode and its fine though.

    Does that help? If you dont mind Norway and its not putting you out. I desperately need a 2nd opinion or else it is going to cost me £200+ to get it sorted. If it works, i will owe you a pint at least!!

    sounds hardware snag to me , but i am in no way an expert ! Sure Millens could give us a more accurate diagnosis!

    Can you do a factory reset or remove and re install windows !

    My old laptop had similar but that was caused by local lightening strike which because it was plugged in frazzled the hard drive!

    It is a Toshiba and it says it is a satellite pro L300 if that helps Norway.
