Sean St Ledger isn't playing Tuesday night for Ireland against Russia.Terrible pity cos he was immense agains Slovakia. His place is likely to be filled by our very own Darren O'Dea. Needless to say I'm not terribly optimistic about the outcome, but will be very interesting to see how he performs in a crunch match. Ireland basically have to win

Seemingly not. Teams just been named and he's centre half. Not looking forward to tomorrow night, but you never know, pigs might fly

Sadly we can't, they cancelled his contract, he is now free to go wherever he likes after his loan spell with us. If we go by ability, then he should concerntrate on the Cyprus 4th Division!

I'm going to put my neck on the block and say i think he will have a great game....

I think he is a good prospect and offers more than O'Brian, Bromby or Bruce.

O'Dea is really the 5th best CB for them. Dunne is playing, O'Shea and St. Ledger unavailable, and Clark not called up.

You don't actually watch Leeds games do you? O'Dea is not worse than those you mention, but he is not better and to be honest, they are all rather poor anyway.

in the games he has played at CB we have looked better in defence. He was LB vs Southamton and its not his position, against Ipswich he was doing well until he moved to LB when White went off. Kisnorbo has clearly been carrying a knock and is not back to 100% so any partner is going to be left gaps to cover.

i like the way he tells midfield what he expects. I know our defence is shyte but its not down to O'Dea, the whole team needs to raise their game.

It seems O'Dea played well as an individual.

Even though Ireland kept a clean sheet O'Dea looked poor . He was lucky he had Given behind hin & Dunne, who was immense, alongside him.

O'Dea looked poor today as usual. dunne was the man doing everything for the back 4 today o'dea would sit there and ball watch with the 2 fullbacks

You kidding! Bromby is hopeless! He has 5-6 good games a season! We wouldn't have recruited for other centre backs, if we felt he was the man for the job!

I caught the second half after work to see How O'dea would perform outside our back four & to be honest I wasnt impressed. He almost cost ROI a point in the last five minutes when he let a ball drift over his head thinking it was going out of play but Given was bang on form & made a great save. I dont think he is the answer at CB for us, but lets give him a fair run in the team before we completely right off his chances <ok>

He got a rating of 8/10 in the mail not bad for someone useless as you all have been saying leave to SG he obviously thinks he will come good . PEARSON the then manager of Leics thought Gradel was no good sold him for £100k any one watching the Norwich game knew striaght away we had got a bargain so I trust Simon

That wasn't his fault, it was Ward at LB who let his man go. So far O'Dea is the only member of our current back 4 not to score an own goal or get sent off <ok>.

Bromby only plays 5-6 games a season. Grayson keeps recruiting other centre backs only for them to be so poor that he has to turn to Bromby again, and he usually plays well.

I suppose thats a positive! Still think O'Dea should have nodded it away if he wasnt sure what was going on around him, but like I said I didnt watch the whole game so I cant really judge.

I cant say I have been too impressed with him so far but I suppose the whole back four still has to settle. Worrying that Celtic wont be having him back & Ipswich was glad to see the back of him.
